Bill Gates paid for the rights to seven physics lectures from 1964 so that anyone on Earth could watch them for free, and almost nobody has pressed play. They were given by Richard Feynman. In November 1964 Feynman gave Cornell's Messenger Lectures. He planned six lectures for a general audience, then added a seventh. The series was called The Character of Physical Law. The BBC filmed it. A year later he won the Nobel Prize. The films went around colleges for years, and then disappeared from circulation in the 1980s. Gates had watched them at Harvard. He later said he "fell in love" with them. He has reportedly told people that if he'd seen them earlier, he might have become a physicist instead of starting a software company. In 2009 he paid privately for the rights, from the Feynman estate, the BBC and Cornell. He never said how much. Microsoft Research put them online for free and called it Project Tuva, after the tiny republic in Central Asia that Feynman spent his last years trying to visit and never reached. When the BBC license ran out in 2021, Gates renewed it. Here's what's inside: > The Law of Gravitation > The Relation of Mathematics and Physics > The Great Conservation Principles > Symmetry in Physical Law > The Distinction of Past and Future > Probability and Uncertainty > Seeking New Laws The last one has the line every science teacher quotes. If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. Gates said his 10-year-old son could follow them. They're still free today on Caltech's Feynman Lectures website. One of the richest people alive paid to make the best physics teacher of the century free. The only thing left to pay is about seven hours. Which would you watch first: gravity, or why time only moves forward?

I’d like to mention Mrs Thatcher warning about man-made climate change being a threat as big as nuclear war, not because I’m a fan of Mrs Thatcher, I can’t stand her, but I think it’s important that people on the right understand that climate change is not a left-wing conspiracy even though the fossil fuel propaganda says exactly that

France is showing the world what real accountability looks like. Paris prosecutors have launched a major criminal investigation into Elon Musk’s X, raided its Paris offices and summoned Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino for questioning. The allegations are staggering, political manipulation through algorithms, child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit deepfakes generated by Grok without consent, Holocaust denial, unlawful data extraction and election interference. While Musk parades around pretending to be a defender of free speech, his platform faces allegations involving the exploitation of children, the sexual abuse of women through AI-generated imagery, the manipulation of political discourse and threats to democratic elections. Bravo, France! This is what standing up to billionaire arrogance looks like. Democracy is not a billionaire's personal playground, social media platforms are not above the law, and Elon Musk does not get to buy himself immunity from accountability. France is making it clear that the rule of law still matters, and the rest of the democratic world should be paying attention.

Thousands of people have held vigils for a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy who was chased down and killed in New York after complaining of school bullying. Javits Frimpong had only been in the US for a year to seek a better life when he was murdered on his way to school.

This is so stupid. Media are just as ridiculous. Albanese, the PM of the Commonwealth Of Australia is off to meet The King & Commonwealth world leaders. I know its not meeting your much loved Seppo Pedo President Pauline, but Albo is representing Australia on the world stage.
Airbus Albo seems to think there’s nothing left to fix at home and is jetting off again.

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course. He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later. By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart. He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother. Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother. An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform. He never stopped and left school at 15. By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that. In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard. Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth. You’ve probably heard that part. Here’s the part you haven’t: He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence. But he never stopped trying to understand his father. He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock. He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours. He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him. So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans. In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence. He asked, “My dear, are you okay?” Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.” At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him. 2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait. He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.” After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows. He played every character himself and donated every cent. In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers. In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring. She was his first dog in more than 50 years. He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family. Then he kept fostering more. When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives. So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time. Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

Israel continues to force Palestinians out of Gaza, using the "yellow line" as a kill zone. This is what Jillian Segal hopes to shut down criticism of, by pulling the anti-Semitism card every time Israel is mentioned. #auspol aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/3…

Why is Jess Wilson happy to answer questions from voters across Victoria, but not from voters in her own electorate of Kew? Is it because she’s backflipped on Treaty, climate, coal and gas?
