After 16 days of COVID i mixed my father’s ashes into a rose plant and two evergreen trees, sought his blessings, and return my broken heart to the reporting road for @themojostory starting travels through rural India. This will be a personal pilgrimage. Wish us luck and love

In the flicker of a Diya’s gentle light may we find stillness, strength, peace and joy and a moment of pause to miss those not with us today. With a special prayer for my father Speedy who first taught me to hold a phooljhari. A day for memory, love, family, friends, red bindis and a lot of food. Happy Diwali 🪔💜🌼💜🌼💜🌼 - some moments of my favourite festival - with love from me to all of you

Couldn’t wait for the actual Diwali D-day to begin the Diyas and the phool ka sajawat- can’t put my finger on what it is that makes little children of us on Diwali- is it the gainda, the kaju katli, the besan ka ladoo, the homey meals around a table with too few chairs to fit the entire family, the memories of your father teaching you how to fire a rocket from a thumbs up bottle in the days the air and greenhouse emissions still allowed you to, the dressing up in Cham cham, the clambering onto last ledge of the home to light a waxy candle - the memories the festival carries - I don’t know, just that this is a festival that contains multitude of emotions- gratitude, joy, loss for those you love who aren’t there anymore, hope, and sheer gluttonous, gaiety 🌼💜🪔

Astonishing country america - where the vice president and the Secretary of State are trying to create distance from a war they defended for months just to run in 2028. Surely republican voters will see through how ludicrous the claims of disassociation by Rubio & Vance are
