The ER is something else. The amount of activity is super overwhelming. I can’t imagine being a nurse working at this pace. The sounds of patients screaming, the machines beeping, the scrape of the curtains opening. All sounds you become familiar with. All sounds that become part of your memory of this horrible time in your life. You know you need to be here but you’d rather be anywhere but here. You long to rewind time back to a place where this beast we call addiction didn’t have its hooks in your loved one. You yearn for a time that has past, grieve for a person who no longer exists, but is laying right in front of you. If the love of a family could cure addiction, it wouldn’t exist. I pray for all the mothers who have been where I sit now. I pray for peace. I pray for release of your worries. I pray for recovery.

I think it’s awesome that people raised $200k for Walt, the Red Baron worker who was harassed by a dumb prankster.
But what nobody’s talking about is how his company was sold to a Korean conglomerate — which then cut pay, gutted benefits, and forced unpaid mandatory overtime.

HEARTWARMING: When legendary rapper Jay-Z, Michael Rubin, and Meek Mill surprised New England #Patriots owner Robert Kraft with his DREAM Bentley for his 80th birthday.
Despite being worth nearly 15 BILLION DOLLARS, Kraft was speechless and stunned.

The big innovation of tech money taking over SF government is that it’s much more open about lobbyists writing legislation to suit them. It’s so shamelessly corrupt.
The mayor’s press release has stock quotes from two real estate lobbyists, and two landlords.
I signed the Slashing Housing Appeals and Delays Everywhere (SHADE) Act, legislation that makes it easier to build housing.
This new law will make the environmental review process faster and less expensive while maintaining strong environmental protections. Written by District 5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, it aligns San Francisco’s environmental review requirements with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and associated state guidelines.
For decades, San Francisco has made it easier to block housing than to build it. Now, we are using every tool available to build more housing more quickly, and this is just the latest example.
I want to thank Supervisor Mahmood for his leadership on this legislation and for helping our city unlock the potential for new homes in our neighborhoods.
