Been away from tweets for a bit but just wanted to post this here -- super excited to interview Lauren Rhoades of Rooted Magazine (rooted.substack.com/) this week here in New Orleans. Amazing new memoir, we'll be talking Thursday 9/18 at 6pm: msje.org/event/split-the-bab…. Come out!

“In its heyday, Jazzland was an ideal spot for a weekend’s misadventures…”
—On this day in the year 2000, Jazzland opened in New Orleans. @bentjulep toured the now-abandoned theme park in “Adventures in Jazzland” for #Issue81.

At Bibb County Correctional Facility, inmates are hearing the gospel, coming to faith, earning seminary degrees, and changing the prison culture. And as @bentjulep reports, they can't stop praising God for his work in their lives.
Read how the Lord is transforming an Alabama prison through the Gospel ministry of Unbound 216. 1 Peter 2:16: “Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” ow.ly/XrQr50Uym0B
Delighted to be part of the Poet Baseball Cards series curated by @MdwstScribbler -- still don't know what kind of wonderful clerical error got me on the list, but looking forward to tomorrow night's reading so much!

Such a joy reading alongside these phenomenal poets at the @LABookFest this morning-- 14 total poets at the gig, with a legit shift change in the middle of the reading. What a delight! Thanks again to Gina Ferrara and Geoff Munsterman for editing this gorgeous book
ps. Have been coming to the @LABookFest for nearly every one of its 20 years and still never get tired of this amazing wall
