"Shares of Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc. (i.e. junk foods) were slammed on Thursday, after Walmart Inc.’s U.S. chief executive said the new class of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy were causing customers to buy fewer groceries and cut back on those that are high in calories."
"Analysts have already expressed concerns that the growing popularity and use of anti-obesity medications would have far-reaching implications for the food and beverage industry and that companies may have to adapt their product choices to address changing consumer behavior." 👈 Let's Hope.

This is my beautiful Daughter who was diagnosed w/ #BrainCancer at 11 & left Earth at 13. 💔
Ashley was incredibly brave, strong, NEVER gave up & somehow, stayed positive throughout her battle.
We’d be so grateful for a follow to keep our Ashley’s story alive.

I loved talking to #MiltonPacker at #ESCCongress about redesigning healthcare services to meet the needs of our patients, and rebuilding trust in the physician-patient relationship.
How can we improve healthcare services? How do we foster #trust?
Thoughts?

Dr Milton Packer's wish for healthcare🏥:
"... I want to be able to find a way that patients would trust the healthcare system again because if they do, then everyone benefits."

I AM NOT A DOCTOR.
But 7 years ago I was constantly ANXOUS & DEPRESSED & prescribed anxiety meds.
Everyday I snoozed my alarm, ate lucky charms for breakfast, worked a desk job, ate out junk for lunch & watched TV at night.
I got VERY LITTLE movement or sunlight.
I was 33 years old.
This is unpopular but I wasn’t depressed or anxious because I was born that way.
It was 100% my lifestyle CHOICES.
No doctor asked me what I ate, how much I moved or what my morning routine looked like.
They said TAKE THIS PILL.
I did & felt worse.
Until one day at 34 I decided NO MORE.
In tears one night I wrote rules for myself.
A simple framework that I could do daily.
That anyone could do daily!
Within a few months I was off meds.
At almost 40 I’m in the best shape of my life physically, mentally & spiritually.
I truly believe we could bankrupt big Pharma if people:
•Ate real food.
•Prioritized walking outside daily.
•Sought PURPOSE over just dollars.
I AM NOT A DOCTOR & not telling you to get off meds.
Some people 100% need them & I’m grateful we live a time where they exist.
But YOU SHOULD 100% try LIFESTYLE CHANGES FIRST before you ever take a pill.

You only have to look at the current state of our health service, to realise that modern medicine, so good at treating acute illness but without as much attention on prevention and long-term illness, is failing our patients.
There is an inextricable rise in demand for medical care which is unsustainable. Unless things change, this situation will only get worse. And more and more patients will suffer.
As an A&E Dr, in many ways, I provide a sticky plaster to societal problems. We need to move our mindset from treatment to prevention of illness.
Only lifestyle changes can truly reduce demand and in the medium to long term preserve a healthy service for all and not just those lucky enough to afford private care.
Doing regular exercise is the single most important thing that anyone can do for their health and thus reduce demand on health care systems.
Two new studies have shown that even small amounts of exercise both for adults and kids can make a massive difference to both physical and mental wellbeing. In this week’s mail health article, these scientific papers are reviewed and the importance of exercise examined.
In summary, get out there, walk or jog; even small amounts are so good for you - you don’t have to do a 10K or a marathon. But if you want that as a goal, as the medical director of the @BrightonMarathn I can thoroughly recommend our races!
Just love these boys! Their loyalty is beyond anything I’ve known ..Tomorrow I’m putting myself through an intense 4 week exercise plan … I’m looking to lower my cholesterol.. my blood 🩸 pressure & increase my VO2 max …not increasing medication 💊 @ShrillaB follow my journey!
