Starting Thursday, a long-duration heat wave will affect interior areas through Monday, spreading into the valleys closer to the coast by Friday. Highs will peak between 100 to 110 degrees, and possibly higher, hottest over the LA County interior.

ALT Hot and very dry conditions will bring elevated fire weather conditions for interior areas into the weekend, potentially bringing rapid plume dominated fire growth with any new fire starts. Starting Thursday, a long-duration heat wave will affect interior areas through Monday, spreading into the valleys closer to the coast by Friday. Highs will peak between 100 to 110 degrees, and possibly higher, hottest over the LA County interior. Here are some recommended actions. Look before you lock! Check vehicle for children, elderly, or pets. Reduce exposure to heat and hydrate. Watch for heat related illnesses and seek medical attention. Take care with possible fire ignition sources such as fireworks and lawn care equipment.
