The killer consumer agent won’t save you time. It’ll be how you spend your time.
Consumer agents combine a new product pattern with the capabilities of a general assistant.
Productivity is not the point - this is a new way for people to use computers, and they're really really into it.
I know the dominant feeling in silicon valley is being totally misunderstood ("too early") and then immediately derivative ("everyone's working on that"), but I promise it's day 1 of wave 1.
Social, finance, self-improvement, degen and a thousand other agent categories are up for grabs .. so get creative and don't worry about being too late.
So now the crazy ones/misfits/round pegs in square holes = Lunatic Fringe.

For most work I have ever done, editing is 90% of the effort. AI doesn’t change that.
Instead of “did you make this with AI?” you should really ask “do you stand by every word?”
Real slop is people saying things they don’t mean.
Being profitable is the new Series A!
How to make Claude stop making things up?
I asked Claude why Linear was losing deals to Jira. It gave me eight reasons. We supplied no buyer interviews, call notes, or deal records.
With our win/loss skill, it said it couldn't know yet and showed what evidence to collect.
Much better.

Worth watching this whole presentation by Pat. This particular slide is why I'm so excited about the next decade. I haven't experienced a bigger gap between capabilities and adoption in my short career.
The @BostonCollege Investment Committee (an LP and my beloved alma mater) asked for a few thoughts on what's happening in AI. I recorded a test run yesterday morning and then shared it with my partners, who encouraged me to share it more broadly... so here you go!
This is not a sales pitch, it's just a reflection on what we're seeing. And it wasn't intended to be shared, so please pardon the rough edges.

One of the most important things to know about this AI cycle is that no one knows what they're talking and even very smart and plugged in people are continually reversing their opinions and then re-reversing them three months later.
Darkbloom is back in action;
Yesterday, we went from free tier to paid tier on OpenRouter.
We have fulfilled on track close at 4.5B tokens served and $102K ARR.
We are open network of Mac machines (250 online right now). On average, people are earning $120-200 per month per machine.
If you have a Mac and it's idle most times: put it on Darkbloom(.)dev;
Tip: run the Gemma 4 26B model.

A new Affogato is here.
Rebuilt from scratch: much faster, much smoother, 170+ image & video models, and character consistency that actually holds.
A lot of exciting stuff is on the way. Give it a try 👇

probably the biggest misconception today is that everything will be chat
chat is bad for discovery, chat is bad for repeating usecases, bad for multiplayer
people love GUI. people love being passive. people love to scroll and tap-tap-tap vs. type. voice only works when you're by yourself. the list goes on.
build a Mac, not MS-DOS!
