Tonight, 25 years ago, thousands of families sat down to dinner, said goodnight, made plans for tomorrow — never knowing it would be their last night together. September 11th changed this country forever, and the weight of that day should never fade.
A quarter century later, there are now young adults who weren't even alive when the towers fell. That's exactly why we can't just remember, we have to tell the stories. Talk about who these people were, not just how they died. Share the stories of the first responders who ran in when everyone else was running out. Talk about the passengers of Flight 93. Talk about the neighbors, coworkers, and strangers who held each other up in the days after.
Every name on that memorial was a whole life, a parent, a friend, a person with plans for a future that was stolen from them. If we keep telling their stories, they never really leave us.
Never forget. Hug your family tonight. Call the people you love. Tell them what they mean to you, tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. God Bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸
25 years later and NYC's own mayor hands the ceremonial 9/11 pen to a lawyer who defended an al-Qaeda operative tied to a hijacker. This city built a memorial so we'd never forget, and our own leadership can't even get through a remembrance ceremony without spitting on it. Never forget. Never let them make you. Fuck Mamdani.

Today the football world is honoring @drewbrees.
I once saw a side of him that most people have never seen—and it had nothing to do with football.
NAS JRB New Orleans - April 2009
I had the privilege of flying Drew in the back seat of an F-15.
We lit the burners on takeoff, went supersonic over the Gulf, then I rolled into a high-G turn.
When we rolled out, I checked on him. "How you doing back there?"
Silence.
For a second I wondered if I'd finally found Drew's limit. Then the headset crackled.
"That was awesome."
We still had plenty of gas, so I asked if there was anything else he'd like to see. Then came a question no back-seater had ever asked before—or since.
"Can we pull more Gs?"
The man wanted another turn. So we did. Nine Gs this time.
By this point, I'd had enough Gs. He was ready for more.
But that's not what I remember most.
After we landed, Drew spent hours on the flight line with our airmen and their families.
Signing autographs.
Shaking hands.
Talking to everyone who walked up.
Hundreds of smiles. Hundreds of selfies.
But not a single glance at his watch.
No handlers.
No television cameras.
No media at all.
Just Drew and a Sharpie.
I climbed into the cockpit knowing I was flying one of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks.
Watching him honor our airmen that day, I came to admire the man more than the athlete—and that's saying something.
Congratulations on a well-deserved Hall of Fame induction, Drew.
And thank you for the kindness and respect you always showed the men and women who wear our nation's uniform.

I enjoy a cocktail at sunset. Especially when I see Zacapa 23 and a bar with fish. I thought about the classic film, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka.

It's crazy to think that just 80 years after we literally nuked their cities, Japan is one of our closest friends and is commemorating our Independence Day with a fireworks show, while Palestinians are still mad that their great great grandparents had to move a few miles after losing a war they started and now need to murder as many people as possible for the rest of time.

For those wondering why Texas respects their rivalry with Oklahoma more than Texas A&M.
Oklahoma holds the D1 record for most consecutive wins in Football and Softball.
Texas A&M holds the record for most male yell leaders.

This is not even a joke.
I have had incredibly high nicotine levels in my blood for the last 18 years and I NEVER get ticks.
I've been in the woods with non-nic-users who get a half-dozen ticks at a go, and I get zero because my blood is literally pesticide.
The average tick would die of nicotine poisoning if you smoked one cigarette before it bit you. Make sure to take a drag every few minutes on a hike. It’s for your health. You likely only have 6 months of this being effective before nicotine resistant ticks are accidentally released from the national laboratory for preventing ticks from developing nicotine resistance
