Mostly Libertarian Living in Colorado Springs

Today I was called to take a political survey. Almost always say no, for some reason I said ok today. Near the end they asked if I was Hispanic. How do you define Hispanic? Labeling people like this seems really silly sometimes. I lived a lot in Colombia and can speak Spanish. Does that make me Hispanic? If you are born in Chicago and speak English but your parents were born in Colombia are you Hispanic? In the survey when they asked what race I was I said to put down that I was a human being. I was a high school teacher for 20 years. I remember a very white student who was born in Egypt putting on a college application that he was African American to increase the odds of getting a scholarship. Since Egypt is in Africa I guess he was right. Labeling people as African American, Black, White, Latino, Asian, etc, etc needs to be phased out at some point. I still think it is silly to say a child is black or Afircan American if their mother is White.

I had never before commented about a CBS Sports article on the CBS Sports website. A few minutes ago I did for the first time. In the article the sportswriter said the comments from Sophie Cunningham were controversial. My main point was to say it is not controversial to say that men should not play sports against women in almost all situations. The moderator rejected my comment so it does not show. Crazy to censor such a basic common sense comment. Reminds me of what Twitter would be like if Elon Musk did not buy it.

Below is the comment that CBS Sports censored: The writer of the article showed their bias by saying that Sophie Cunningham made "controversial remarks". What did Sophie say that was controversial?? Obviously someone born a male should not play sports against a woman. There are some exceptions mixed doubles tennis, coed softball, etc. But in almost all cases not a good idea for men to play against women.

What happened to Tucker Carlson?
I’m beyond uninterested in this obviously unwell, demon infected, nicotine addicted raving lunatic, but the part at 46 seconds did make me chuckle. via: @TheMilkBarTV

Read this Fauci diary entry closely. Officials would not admit the vaccine was not stopping spread because it might weaken the legal case for mandates. That is not science. That is a cover-up to justify coercion.
August 13, 2022: we cannot admit that the shots don't work because that would undermine our policy to force people to get them.

People who put quotation marks around words that someone did not say should have consequences. I would support their accounts being suspended.

Great question!! Spain handled their 1-0 lead against France much different than England handled their 1-0 lead against Argentina. Argentina almost scored 5 or 6 goals in last 20 minutes.

Can you explain to an American the strategy of going all defense with a one goal lead, with 30+ minutes left in the game against an elite team like Argentina?

There was more contact here than in that Haaland touch on Anderson. FIFA now using VAR and refs to get their "desired" outcome… there’s no credibility in this competition anymore 💔

At the World Cup the country vs country competition is a big marketing thing. It is crazy how many coaches and players are representing countries where they have rarely or never lived in. Lots of interesting players, coaches and teams to root for. Very few teams where all the coaches and players actually have lived a lot of time in the country they represent.

World Cup futbol reminds me a lot of what NHL playoffs are like. Often "puck luck" or "ball luck" involved. The team that creates the most scoring chances often does not win. Truthfully the team that plays the best may not win that one game. NHL, MLB and NBA go to best of 7 to determine winners late in their playoffs. Since World Cup is so important I wish they could figure out a way to go to at least best of 3 starting at the quarterfinals.
