person branding on ct: the reality. i want to correct the misconception about building a personal brand and participating in creator campaigns. some KOLs advice you not to turn your X page to a billboard, that it makes you look less brandy. but what i realized lately is that the concept of a ‘personal brand’ on CT is overstated. there are no personal brands here. if you’re a person whose motive here is to post about things and make money, you do not have any personal brand. i mean much less people have a personal brand than we think. having a unique pfp and posting style doesn’t necessarily equate to being a brand. writing this to inform you that you have nothing to lose by participating in these slop campaigns and there are very few exceptions here. for example; personally i have been getting deep into the startup environment on X. making connections with other founders and company executives. and from what I’ve seen from them, there’s a certain look my account should have and my contents too. I’m now building a brand around high quality contents, rectangular image pieces and top tier stuff. i can’t afford to participate in some of these projects. it’s a bad look. yeah I’m taking a longer but more sustainable route to wealth and status. to you, progress is moving from 2k followers to 10k, to me, progress is having my next project funded at idea level which is getting more and more possible by the day. another good example of personal branding on X I’ve seen is @Octoberry. her page is clean and consistent. that’s the major reason i decided to work with her for KEYMANIA. she told me a little about her future plans, i was impressed. but generally, if you are not ticking any of these boxes, don’t let anyone box you in.
