This is the first major token purchase @foundersfund has made in a long time. Did Tyler just bottom tick the bull run with ethereum:0xaeeaa594e7dc112d67b8547fe9767a02c15b5597 ?
Last week, Peter Thiel’s @foundersfund led a $5M token buy in @anvil_xyz. The same week, @cryptosmiff sat down with Anvil founder @trspalding in Singapore for Conviction. you tasteless techies ruined the bay lmao
My experience partying all night at Berghain in Berlin made me think of how we're lacking this experience in the San Francisco tech scene. We can literally become the coolest, most tasteful social scene on Earth if we had our version of Berghain, but better. So let's build it. The best aspect of Berhain is how they select who gets in. The club has a vibe and atmosphere, and if you aren't wearing the right clothes or have the right demeanor, you don't get in. That's how you cultivate a tasteful crowd. We can improve on this by only letting in high agency, talented operators in the tech scene who can still pull off dope outfits, so no geeks. SF is in dire need of late night venues, and Berghain goes until 8am. That's a little too crazy for high net worth operators who are changing the world so we could do something like 2am. Berghain also is kinda dark and in a weird building so we'd put the club in a SoMa corporate office that we convert to speakeasy or barcade vibe. Maybe add a quiet area for people to bring their laptops and work? I honestly feel like we're improving on the Berghain form here, especially by swapping out the crowd of weird partiers in inappropriate clothes (or lack there of) with insanely cracked founders and engineers. I'm super stoked about this idea, SF tech could really run the dopest parties on the planet.

John McAfee ran for president, fled authorities, and became one of the most unpredictable characters in tech history. Naturally, we put him on a shirt. HEROES OR VILLAINS. No antivirus included.

The more you look at what blockchain actually makes possible for finance, the harder it is to imagine things going any other way. Markets move toward efficiency. @m_at_anvil sums it up perfectly 🙌
"I didn't qualify for the lowest rate, despite saying I had the highest credit score he's ever seen. I didn't have enough debt to qualify. A system that says you're not in debt enough to get a lower rate is backwards. Bringing finance onchain isn't about replacing existing financial systems. It's about making them fundamentally more efficient. From instantly verifiable guarantees to leveraging the rise of onchain value, Anvil provides the infrastructure to bring DeFi advantages into existing financial applications. @m_at_anvil joins @cryptosmiff on @spenders_club's Conviction ep 5 to discuss what's possible when these two worlds come together. ↓

Congrats to the @get_optimum team on their first mainnet deployment, and kudos for making it freely available to all Ethereum node operators! Check out Lido operator progress with testing mump2p on Hoodi on the Research Forum: research.lido.fi/t/perch-req…
The Optimum team is pleased to announce our first mainnet deployment, mump2p on Ethereum. With mump2p, data moves across all of Ethereum 2-3x faster, boosting validator performance and network health. $3.4B of Ethereum stake is already being boosted by mump2p, and we’re now opening up free access for all Ethereum node operators.

ethereum:0xaeeaa594e7dc112d67b8547fe9767a02c15b5597 has the potential to disrupt a centuries old credit market. Why can't anything of value I own be used as collateral?

Payments touch almost every part of our daily lives, and Tyler sees that as the reason to keep building in the space Having worked close to the inefficiencies in payment systems, he sees an opportunity to improve something people rely on constantly. Every purchase, transaction and exchange of value creates another reason to make payments work better. For him, the scale of that everyday impact is what makes the problem worth solving. w/ @trspalding

"You go to a bank and say, 'Hey, I have this PSA 10 Illustrator Pikachu.' They have no idea what you're talking about. But if it's truly worth that and it's liquid, why not? It's in their interest to absolutely give you a loan based on these things." Tokenization of alternative assets could open the door to making almost ANYTHING collateral, even your Pokémon cards!

A society does not worship its saints; it worships what it cannot digest. Every system exists to make the world useful, but there is always a surplus that must be burned, in the feast, the war, the bonfire. Happy monday :)
