I'm a young black paleontologist, geologist, and Paleo/Geo educator in Gwinnett County, Georgia. I enjoy watching modern day dinosaurs. I enjoy unlocking the secrets that are hidden in the rocks around us and sharing the history of 4 billion years. #BlackInNature #BlackAFinSTEM

It’s time for me to (re) introduce myself. My name is Kaylee, I am an ecologist, and this is me #BlackInNature. Fortunately, I grew up near the ocean and fell in love at an early age. But I didn’t think wildlife science was for me until I got to college. – at Athens, GA

I owe my love of nature to my ancestors: from my 3x great-grandpa who bought our family's land after Emancipation, to my grandmother who star-gazed and gardened with me on that same land. She also taught me mark recapture! #BlackInNature @BlackAFinSTEM

I’m gonna start my #BlackInNature tweets with some pictures from field research. It’s me your favourite tropical herper. Here I am across my island hiking, lassoing lizards and teaching about what I’m doing. It’s proud but also humbling to not only show my students that 1/

I don't have too many pictures of me out in nature since I'm usually in water that is very murky and the third one is me getting critters off a dock but #BlackInNature

Congratulations to Leicester's Dr Brett Matulis, shortlisted by the Arts & Humanities Research Council for its 2018 Research in Film Awards. Dr Matulis' films explore 2 groups of women living at the margins of Philippine society ow.ly/sVpR30m0RVg #RIFA2018
Kavanaugh’s rage has more to do with entitlement and the declining privilege of white men in society than it does with being ‘falsely accused’. The man is guilty. He’s just angry that these days there’s a *chance* it could mean he doesn’t get what he wants.
And the hyper-acceleration of academia continues... Publication notifications on our phones? This is getting absurd. We don’t need to move faster. We need to produce less, slower, better #slowscholarship
The new issue of @ConBiology is out, we know because we have the app! Download the app to your phone or tablet to access the journal and its archives & receive notifications that are relevant to you. Search Conservation Biology in the App Store or Google Play
