If the overnight tax works so well in the EU then maybe hospitality should have the same sort of differential VAT rates as other EU countries 🤔

Would reply to this parody Mp account but for challenging some of the rubbish the real one spouts he’s blocked me - useful idiots holding the purse strings in our government it seems 🤷♂️
Or is this the real one - your guess……

This reminds me of the Adolescence exchange.
Badenoch is saying something which won't seem radical to the public - though many will disagree - and it's being responded to like some sort edgelord hot take.
'You should aspire to live wherever you want to live, but you shouldn't aspire for the government, i.e. other taxpayers, to pay for you to live wherever you want to'
Conservative party leader Kemi Badenoch told #BBCBreakfast she would target housing allowance as one of the measures to reduce spending on welfare

Honestly can’t believe the saviour of hospitality and tourism is standing up for this tax/levy 🤦♂️
There's a lot of misinformation flying around about the Tourism levy, so here's the actual facts:
It's about investing more money in our communities.
Visitors come to our towns and cities every year. This gives local leaders the option to levy a small charge on the cost of their accommodation and reinvest that money into local needs.
It's local choice, not a national tax. The government is providing the framework, but it's for mayors and local communities to decide whether a levy is right for their area and what it should look like.
Budget trips are protected. Because the levy is linked to the cost of accommodation, lower-cost stays will pay less, meaning cheaper holidays and short breaks remain affordable.
This is part of the wider devolution agenda. This is about trusting mayors and local leaders with more powers and more control over decisions that affect their local economy.
This quick and simple charred nectarine and halloumi dish from @FoodStories has become my favourite braai starter this year……. Thankfully there’s still lots of summer left 🔥
Summer beer festivals are just the ticket and well worth supporting - something people have certainly done @GlobeInnPub

Just seen a stat that in the PCA survey about tenant satisfaction that 39% of Stonegate tenants are “satisfied” with their relationship - I’m truly astounded that they got out of double figures 🍺🤦♂️

One of the interesting things about the reaction to any land value tax is that reveals how many otherwise left-wing people in the South East of England are perfectly happy to tax everything, so long as they get to inherit their parents' house. – at Sundridge, South East
It’s now or never 😂
Seemed fitting as he would treat a finish line like a Yorkshireman at a buffet - leaving nowt for anyone else 🚵♂️
