These are the stories we need right now. Stories of folks like @TareqHadhad - who started over in Canada, found a new place to call home & built a thriving business that feeds both our sweet tooth and our soul: sharing a message of solidarity, inclusion, & peace. Congrats Tareq!
Important new work from our friends @MiC_Global: confirmation of support for #refugee resettlement in the US and of the power of #communitysponsorship. Americans of all kinds responding positively to the simple idea of neighbors welcoming neighbors.
👇Wonderful to see support for #communitysponsorship confirmed by recent polling from @MiC_Global. As with other countries, support comes from many groups, for many reasons. A simple policy, with the potential to bring us together in new ways.👇
Incredible leadership from Colombia at a critical time + a huge opportunity for global community to offer innovative forms of support. We can use this moment to learn together re how to expand protection + create welcoming, mutually supportive communities in all parts of the wrld
BREAKING! Colombia announces a Statute of Protection for Venezuelan migrants, granting regular status to 1.8 million people.

Which other countries in the Americas and Europe will follow suit? @FilippoGrandi @IOMchief @bondjk @danybahar @martaforesti
This! 👇 Yesterday @JoeBiden laid out a plan not only to scale refugee resettlement but to strengthen the entire system. He has given us a roadmap of the various ways we can do that from end-to-end. Now it's time to use this moment to dream big & get the hard work done.
Historic: @JoeBiden will welcome 125,000 refugees a year, commits to visionary reforms to engage community/private sponsors, vows to address climate migration.
This moment is as important as the 1980 Refugee Act.
Now we all have to deliver.

New EO gives US depts 120 days to deliver plan for US #communitysponsorship system. Huge congrats to all friends & allies who have worked so hard for this moment. And especially to sponsors + newcomers who have inspired us to dream big. It doesn't get bigger than this.
Delighted to see CAD sponsorship in great op-ed by @SashaChanoff in @USATODAY. 15+ countries have introduced #communitysponsorship pgrms, and 10,000s of sponsors are engaging in communities all over the wrld. Thrilling to imagine what is possible as US rebuilds its program.

#CommunitySponsorship at its best! When we gather, we share, we learn, we laugh and we inspire. The #SouthWest network grows every time we meet, yesterday was no exception 60+ people already supporting #refugee families or getting ready to welcome - always a joy and privilege

If only @ukhomeoffice could see the bag of food prepared by our neighbour who was resettled here via #CommunitySponsorship as a refugee, to be delivered to a member of our group who has Covid. And hear her words to me to take care because she cares about me.
