Neither No Kings or the French protests are going to change anything for the better. No Kings is organized, but has no teeth or even real demands. The French riots are mostly spontaneous catharsis and little else, although some of the early protests gained some concessions.

I'm generally wary of spontaneous riots because while yes, the imagery can be cathartic and it's possible for them to generate small concessions, they often lead to very little long-term and actually could have a counterproductive domino effect. But we'll see.

I've not been following the unrest in France closely. What's the trend looking like? Counterproductive or no? Will reactionary backlash outweigh whatever concessions have or will be given? Is this helping Le Pen? Is it too early to tell?
