Those who claim Russia wants to “destroy the West” are the people most likely to incite WW3 and destroy Europe for a third time. For some insane reason, they want to turn a proxy war between Moscow and Washington for control of Ukraine’s people and resources into a continental conflict. By driving all countries on Russia’s western border to join the US nuclear threat, one is kicking the bear, and at some point, the bear lashes out. The list of renowned western scholars of history and geopolitics who have warned about this in the past is extensive. There is no surprise here. Russia’s reaction in Ukraine was expected and the circumstances were created for that reaction to materialise. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuanian joined in 2004, and then Finland (2023) and Sweden (2024), but that wasn’t enough. They also want Ukraine—a country where half the people speak Russian and have traditionally voted for Moscow-aligned candidates. While sitting far away in the safety of your London townhouse or Washington mansion, you can work for peace in Europe, encourage trade, fund scientific exchange and organise sporting events with Russia. Or you can do the evil and immoral opposite: incite ethnic hatred in faraway lands, encourage discrimination based on what language one learnt as a child, arm and embolden neo-nazis, actively work to make sure peace negotiations fail in order to endlessly funnel billions of deadly weapons into a fragile region, ensuring that cities are blown to dust, families and businesses are eradicated, public infrastructure is destroyed, and millions of children across Eastern Europe can never again be held and protected by their fathers. This monstrous strategy—no doubt dreamt up by fools drinking bourbon by a log fire in a Vermont lodge—identified Ukraine as the next country to flip, and be under no illusions, they don’t care how many people die, or how much money is stolen by corrupt officials, or how many billions of their own taxpayers’ money is diverted to the war lobby, away from much-needed investments in infrastructure, eduction, or healthcare in Cleveland, Baltimore or Detroit. Remember what Victoria Nuland said as she started moving her chess pieces around the board at the start of this diabolical shitshow? “Fuck the EU”. That’s 500 millions lives she was talking about. This is what being dangerously drunk on power sounds like. They make some people very rich, while their power and status grants them the right to play board games with millions of people’s lives, and when things go very badly wrong—as they have done in Ukraine—and and they usually do—they have an army of “experts” and “journalists” who flood the airwaves and newspapers to defend their evil and incompetent efforts and instead tell us that it is Russia that is trying “to destroy the West”. They are sadly working from a position of such military, intelligence, funding and propaganda superiority that no another narrative gets much light in Western counties like Britain. The debate is neutered, while they march the European continent back towards World War. And one thing you can be certain of, they’ll be on the first plane out with their families when the tanks start rolling across the Flemish or polish flatlands again, or swarms of thousands of drones race across the channel on their way to London. Deescalation is what is needed. The war profiteers must be sidelined. As must be the Nulands of this world who want to “win” the “board game” they have laid out on their big desk in the pentagon. They have all the most deadly toys at their disposal, and they’re desperate to use them. They’ll claim it was for a higher ideal, but it’s all about ego and power—the worst of our human cruches—and in their eyes, be damned the millions of casualties.
