Max Huntsman referenced in this letter openly stated he fears his life. Testifying @ the COC for @canAVcontract I strongly stated that he could imagine the terror in the hearts of community members, mostly BIPOC folks who have been targets of state violence for speaking up.

LASD clearly doesn’t provide training on much of anything whether it be about LGBTQ folks or students. Cap Lecrivain similarly struggled when directly asked about school resource deputies in AV and provided COC with a laughable document outlining such policies @canAVcontract
Look what happened when LA County Board of Supervisor Candidate @LindseyPHorvath asked the Sheriff's department about deputy training 🏳️🌈🚔

.@WeHoCity is cutting a few of its sheriff's deputies. @LACoSheriff says he's "being hamstrung by political motivated special interests". Mayor Pro Tem @SepiShyne tells @alexcoheninla that #AlexVillanueva does not belong in her city. For more, watch @SpecNews1SoCal @ 8/11 p.m.

For those just following me, as a resident of Lancaster, this is the work I support. Along with @ReformLAJails @JusticeLANow @PowerDignity we are working hard to create a culture of #carenotcops
Today, our Steering Committee members shared w/ @LACountyCOC, needs and plans to support students in the #AntelopeValley. Creating a culture of care means doing things that truly make them safe—and that does not include police in schools. #PoliceFreeSchools @maximumpunk

What a powerful day yesterday! It’s long past time for a #CareFirstBudget and we will not let up in our continued demands!
Yesterday, we showed up.
And we're going to continue to show up until the Board of Supervisors invests in a #CareFirstBudget that funds the Office of Diversion and Reentry, youth services and non-carceral community services.

VILLANUEVA COVER UP:
A third high-ranking LASD official has filed a legal claim contradicting @LACoSheriff’s account of how Villanueva covered up the video of a deputy kneeling on a persons head.
The claim also states Villanueva said to a Black woman “we have enough of you.”
ALT La times headline “third top official disputes sheriff Villanueva’s account in cover up” Picture of a nazi
ALT Haselrig’s claim also alleges that Villanueva targeted her because she is Black. She alleged in the filing that she once told the sheriff that she hoped there would be opportunities for qualified Black employees to promote and that he replied: “We have enough of you.”

Thank you @KnockDotLA for hosting tonight's forum & not shying away from asking difficult questions. I am proud to have taken the stage alongside @Strong4Sheriff & Carranza. True transparency and change starts with being able to show up, listen & respond to the community.

Last night @KnockDotLA and @canAVcontract hosted a candidate forum in Palmdale. Thank you for a great venue and the opportunity to meet AV community members. Our communities are who matters and need to come first. It's time for change and I'm listening.

All three candidates at the @KnockDotLA @canAVcontract sheriff’s forum said the @LASDHQ needs a full financial audit. Both @Britta4Sheriff and @Strong4Sheriff said the current sheriff has not been transparent about how money is being spent. – at Palmdale, CA

When we over-police Black and Brown communities, violate the public trust and overuse our authority…we are detracting from public safety.
