i tested the second brain setup for 42 days. it gave me back ~10 hours a week and killed the "wait, did i already read this?" anxiety for good. not re-googled a single thing twice since
andrej karpathy: "context engineering is the new programming"
translation: the people building a personal context store in 2026 will look like wizards next to the ones still typing the same question into a blank chatgpt tab every morning
the setup:
1. brew install obsidian, mkdir ~/vault, cd ~/vault
2. run claude code in that folder, type: init a knowledge vault, CLAUDE.md as the rules, /raw for sources, /wiki for pages
3. drop any file into /raw and type ingest. claude writes a wiki page and cross-links it to every related one you already have
what else it quietly fixed:
-> every claude answer cites my own sources, with dates
-> every meeting searchable by what was actually said
-> every book i read in 2023, remembered today
-> every monday morning starts with context, not a blank chat
the part no one wants to admit: whoever runs this in 2026 will remember every podcast, every book, every slack thread they ever cared about. everyone else will be googling the same fucking question for the fourth time this week
the exact init prompt, the CLAUDE.md i use, and the 42-day receipts are in the article below. your move

This is f*cking gold, the CEO of Obsidian put his own second brain on GitHub for free and people still build theirs from zero
7 free repos from the Obsidian team:
-> kepano obsidian (by kepano)
github.com/kepano/kepano-obs…
the vault template of the Obsidian CEO himself, copy it and skip the blank page
-> jsoncanvas (by obsidianmd)
github.com/obsidianmd/jsonca…
the open canvas format, your maps stay plain files that are yours forever
-> obsidian releases (by obsidianmd)
github.com/obsidianmd/obsidi…
every community plugin and theme in one list
-> obsidian sample plugin (by obsidianmd)
github.com/obsidianmd/obsidi…
the official template, build the plugin you are missing
-> 40 questions (by kepano)
github.com/kepano/40-questio…
40 questions that turn your notes into a yearly review
-> obsidian minimal (by kepano)
github.com/kepano/obsidian-m…
a clean theme so your vault stops looking like a mess
-> flexoki (by kepano)
github.com/kepano/flexoki
the color scheme he made for writing and code
your second brain should never start from a blank page
copy his vault and make it yours

Tested where it's hardest to breathe.
14,000 feet in the Himalayas. -10°C.
We didn't rate it on a bench. We flew it.
When you operate UAVs in extreme environments, you cannot rely on sea-level spec sheets. The physics of thermal dissipation change fundamentally at high altitude. Thin air compromises convective cooling. We took this hardware to the mountains to validate power delivery and thermal limits where the margin for error is zero.
Engineered for severe operational strain.
Designed and manufactured in Bharat.
Pre-orders for the Vector Technics 4-in-1 ESC are open.

There are many online certificate courses available for coders.
We need similar online courses to teach practical vocational skills to blue-collar workers.
I want to fund a startup which can do this .
Please create a prototype website and pitch to me.
Laksh is off to Dubai for a couple of weeks. While he’s away, I’ll be busy reorganising the lab, setting up better power management, and exploring new partnerships to support his upcoming builds.
The idea is to have everything ready for him to hit the ground running when he’s back.

Contribute and Win — Pushing Agentic Embedded Development to the Limit!
TL;DR: I am curating a list of challenging embedded development tasks for AI agents to evaluate their performance.
You can submit a task here: forms.gle/SVueH4fqY8THZS7Y6
If your submission is selected as one of the top 5 most challenging tasks, you win! I'll connect with you to discuss your reward :)
Details:
Over the past several months, I've been using agentic workflows for embedded software development. It has been hit-or-miss: sometimes it works exceptionally well, and other times not so much.
To get a clear sense of what frontier models can and cannot do reliably—and to calibrate my expectations—I am building a benchmark set of practical tasks and use cases. The goal is to set up the necessary infrastructure, run these tasks on a real physical setup, and score different models.
To start, I have built a hardware testbed (currently in progress) around a PocketBeagle 2. It features multiple Cortex-A CPUs, a Cortex-M core, computational blocks (GPU, DSP, etc.), and extensive GPIOs. It's connected to a JTAG debugger, serial interface, and SD card multiplexer. Later, I'll also integrate an oscilloscope.
The idea is to assign complex, industry-inspired tasks to AI agents. The agent will have direct control over the setup, and the automated test framework will evaluate the final solution for accuracy and assign a performance score.
If you'd like to see how current models perform and want to contribute a task, submit your entry here: forms.gle/SVueH4fqY8THZS7Y6
I will handle the hardware setup, execute the tasks across different LLMs, and share the benchmark results publicly. This is going to be fun! 😎

Launching Junction: come speed-run the semiconductor tech tree this December in Bangalore.
We’re flying in students from all over India 🇮🇳 to a 2-week fabrication retreat at @_lagrangepoint to build equipment, design chips and engineer processes, with our friends at @hackerfabindia.
India still needs thousands of semicon engineers -- the ecosystem to produce them isn’t mature enough yet -- we're changing that.
Current applicants have built vacuum chambers to study plasma physics, RISC-V processors from scratch, scanning tunneling microscopes, et cetera
At junction you will:
1. Propose a project
2. Figure out a plan with the Junction team.
3. Iterate fast towards a working prototype, with help from the Junction team
4. Be mentored by top semiconductor hackers and specialists.
5. Demo to industry leaders, founders, investors, and your fellow craftspeople
Flights, accommodation and project expenses? All covered. Apply on the link below

My name is Arjun Shah, a 14-year old entrepreneur, and this is my story. 👇
I was seven years old when I first discovered coding.
I started with Tynker, solving little puzzles, and eventually moved on to Python. I loved the idea that I could create something entirely from scratch, just using a computer and my imagination.
But there was one problem. I HATED syntax.
So I quit.
But that spark inside me never died.
When I was 12, I discovered Cursor, and it changed my life. I used it to build a crappy AI-powered plant identifier in HTML+CSS (I didn't even know what Github was), but it really showed me that I could use AI to build something real.
I started experimenting with automations, building applications, and exploring neural networks. I became obsessed with 3Blue1Brown and Karpathy, and started building my own SaaS's as well.
At thirteen, I built therooted.ai, a startup that went on to win the Stanford Graduate School of Business LISA startup competition. I was the youngest ever winner.
But I was just getting started.
At fourteen, I started putting myself out there. I participated in Chamath Palihapitiya's 8090 Hackathon, where I reached the podium.
Recently, I placed second (800+ participants) at the Composio and Nebius Builders Ship Hackathon (in SF, on a yacht!!!). I got to present my work at a real convention in SF, and met so many cool people!
I also received twenty thousand dollars in E2B credits to support my development work.
Around this time, I became fascinated by a bigger question: what if AI could do more than help someone write code? What if it could independently build an entire software product?
That's what led me to create Loopy (loopy.yachts), an autonomous software engineer. You give it an idea, and it researches the problem, plans the implementation, writes code, runs tests, fixes mistakes, and keeps iterating. [this is what i used at the yachtathon]
But as I worked on Loopy, I discovered a problem that almost every long-running AI agent faces.
Context.
An agent might work perfectly for five minutes, but after five hours, it can start forgetting decisions, repeating the same work, and consuming enormous amounts of tokens just to remember what happened earlier.
So I decided to build something to solve it.
That became SuperCompress.dev, an open-source context compression engine designed to help AI agents remember what's important while discarding unnecessary information.
I've racked up over 5 million views since launch, and we're about to hit a billion (with a B!!!) processed tokens.
But I still feel like I'm at the very beginning.
Because for me, this was never really about learning how to code.
It was about learning how to build.
And this is only the beginning of my story.
Follow along to see how it goes.
