On the last day, 6 Nov, we are celebrating hardware builders and their creations at the world's biggest prototyping center. @TWorksHyd

It's been a very long time since I touched a soldering iron. It was when I did my diploma in computer science at SJP (Sri Jayachamarajendra polytechnic), that I probably used a soldering gun in our electronics lab, back in the late 80s. And of course, in engineering at University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering ( UVCE ), we had breadboards, so we did not have to actually solder anything.
Imagine my joy when @GrowthX organized a "Build Your Own Music Controller in 4 Hours" in Bangalore last weekend. I registered right away, and it was a fantastic experience. Thanks to the folks at @PCBCUPID , even though my hands were kind of shaking while using a soldering gun, I had a lot of help from these folks 🤣 Using the kits and the generous help and the awesome instructions, I was able to create this music controller with some actual soldering some of the components in the PCB (Printed Circuit Boards), and also able to understand some of what's going on with various components. These folks have also created an awesome platform to design PCBs online, and get it fabricated. and they are from our namma Bengaluru !!
All in all, it was a productive time for me. I loved every minute of it, spending on a Saturday afternoon. And so, why this itch? Well, some folks, as they grow old, get an itch to ride bikes, go on trekking, do cycling. Somehow, I like attending hackathons, workshops, playing tennis/pickleball and tinkering with things 🤪 Let's see where this goes. Of course, I do need to buy a soldering gun !!
