Jensen on why fixing Energy in the UK is crucial:
โWithout energy thereโs no industry, without industry thereโs no economic prosperity.
With no economic prosperity social problems are hard to fix, national security problems are hard to fix, everything is hard to fix.โ
YES
He said we need to import it or create it here and it could be โfusion, fission, solar, hydro, whatever technology you want to useโ
Jensen Huang on why the UK is in a great position in AI:
โThe UK is in a Goldilocks moment.
You have every aspect necessary to take advantage of this new Industrial Revolution.
You just have to activate itโ
He went on say how crucial fixing energy prices are in the UK if we want to take advantage of this moment.
US Federal excise tax is 24.4 cents per gallon. Suspending this would seem the fastest way to reduce diesel costs at the pump, in competitive markets anyway.

NON COMPETES BANNED
Today, the PM has announced that his Government will legislate to functionally ban non-compete agreements for startups and scaleups in the UK or as he called it - the Bosman ruling for ruling for the innovation sector' ๐
At the @StartupCltn been working on this for months and we think itโs a huge potential unlock for our tech ecosystem.
Hereโs what you need to knowโฆ
- Measures to functionally ban non-competes for startups and scaleups in the UK are going to be set out.
- There will also be consultation on a wider set of restrictive practices including gardening leave.
- More detail on these plans at the budget in a few weeks (Wednesday 28th October) including a timetable for consultation with a view to legislation in the coming months.
We think this is a huge move and so do lots of friends including so many of the great founders that signed the letter with Inherent just the other week.
Why? Because talent matters and mobile talent means startups can build. The Valley was built on free-flowing talent. In the UK, weโre now seeing our own versions of this story with companies being built from alumni of both homegrown firms like Revolut and beyond. But we need that to move faster. Hiring and building faster means British startups and scaleups can grow faster. Barriers to that slow our ecosystem down.
We wonโt pretend it will be perfect, and people (including some of our friends but also lots of fairly vested interests too) will have a right to disagree. But we think that startups will thrive and win in a faster paced Britain.
So we are delighted with the progress today - as part of a strong speech by the PM outlining his ambition for building the worldโs leading innovation nation including more on tax, growing companies outside London and more. But this is the start, not the end of the process. The announcement launches a consultation. It doesn't mean the issue is settled. How far reform goes, and what it looks like on the ground, is still to be decided.
The Prime Minister today has done something that can materially impact the trajectory of the UK tech ecosystem and with it our economy - but only if we make sure itโs delivered. So, the real work starts now.
It is my understanding that there will be no math
"A spokesperson for OpenAI told Scientific American that the new modelโwhich the company has not released to the publicโproduced almost every one of the results in response to a single prompt handed to a single AI agent."
That may be the most insane part of the entire story.
This wasnโt a giant swarm of agents grinding away for weeks. It was a single agent, given a single prompt, producing almost the entire set of results.

Plagueposting
๐จโฃ๏ธMore details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab.
"FSB units accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news. This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security / counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary.
It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.
โPacing the frontierโ is the new information campaign. Maybe โ2 years to flatten the curveโ was too on the nose.

We made history. On just our second flight, we became the first commercial space company from Europe to deliver satellites into orbit. Mission 'Onward and Upward' successfully lifted off and deployed payloads into orbit. A new chapter for European spaceflight. More: isaraerospace.com/press/histโฆ
