Quick question to anaesthetists out there. My new department have said that even though our working week as anaesthetists is normally 4 days, we have to take 5 days of leave for a week off. Is that normal anywhere else? Because it's new to me. @TheBMA @RCoANews

I support the right of my nursing colleagues to strike today. Shame on our leaders for letting it get to this, with real terms pay cuts to precious and valued front line staff. The state of the NHS today is a stain on the record of the government of the last 12 years.
