Yesterday, I had an experience that isn't unique, but speaks to how valuable robust, extended-hours street outreach would be for our community. As my friend dropped me at home from knocking doors someone laying on the sidewalk nearby called to us for help.

Normalize calling us Native Nations rather than Tribes. Specifically, the term five civilized tribes is adhering to the colonization of who we are (imo). Referring to us as Tribes infers we are inferior to ‘civilized’ people. And capitalize the words. 1)

HJR 1047, if passed, would reduce property taxes for those age 65 and older and eliminate ~$2M from the Metro Library’s annual budget. – at Oklahoma City, OK

Collective power is impactful. Workers organizing for workplaces that support them is wildly important. I am so inspired to see this happening in @Uptown23rd – at Oklahoma City, OK

This is exactly why I advocate for removing the median on 23rd, reducing the lanes from 4 to 3 (with a center turn lane) and diverting as much traffic possible to 36th, where there are far fewer storefronts directly facing the street. – at Oklahoma City, OK
This is indicative of multiple systemic problems - building spaces that prioritize cars over safety of those in and outside of cars, & the ever increasing size of vehicles on our streets. Risk of fatality in an auto/ped collision decreases significantly if the vehicle is smaller.
