Reddit has been experimenting with NFT’s for a while now. Let’s look at their gas costs. · Reddit has minted 8,492,713 NFT’s so far, with more on the way · This has been done in 884,728 web3 transactions · Mints have been in batches ranging from 1 to 200 (average 9.6)   1/3

· Total gas use for these mints has been 284 billion · A single Reddit NFT mint uses about 65k gas, but because of their batch mints, on average they used 33,433 gas per mint · In total they spent about 14k USD on minting · On average 0.00165 USD per NFT   2/3

They don’t seem to have bothered to mint only when gas prices were low. Without too much optimization, but following good practices, Reddit so far has minted more than 8 million NFT’s for 0.165 cent USD per NFT, leading the way for other companies on Polygon   3/3

Compared to other Reddit NFT collections there is much more movement of Reddit’s World Cup NFT’s. People seem to be hoarding them, some wallets hold up to 5,000. Most transfers are not on Seaport, while majority of other Reddit collections are. 1/2

Looking into the Reddit NFT collections on Polygon. Some initial findings (data up to October 23): - Reddit has minted almost 3 million NFT’s - Total mining cost is about 3,900 USD - Reddit mints to custodial wallets (owned by Reddit) for Redditors 1/n
