🚨 BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his retirement from international football after 23 years representing Portugal. 🇵🇹
In an emotional five-minute farewell statement, Ronaldo said:
“Today I finish my walk on the pitch with the national team. I leave with my head held high, with pride in the path I took, and with the awareness that I gave everything I had for Portugal.”
“The goals pass, the cups are in museums, the records end up being beaten. But there is something that time can never erase, the place we occupy in people’s hearts.”

Avram Glazer has told an audience of financiers that sports teams at Manchester United’s level are not dependent on success on the pitch for commercial power.
United’s co-owner was making a rare speaking appearance at Deutsche Bank’s inaugural Sports Investment Conference in London. Sources with knowledge of the event — talking anonymously to protect relationships — said he argued his club’s value is incubated from the effects of sporting variance in the same way that the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys still stand out as major global brands.
Glazer was asked by an audience member about the correlation between results on the pitch and a club’s commercial pull. His response bears similarity to the feedback Ed Woodward, United’s former executive vice-chairman, gave during an investor call in May 2018.
Woodward was asked by a shareholder if the improved performance in the Premier League, when Mourinho raised the side from sixth to runners-up, had been a factor in another set of record financial accounts, with United making £590million in annual revenue. Woodward replied: “Playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business.”

- LSG have shown interest in having Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) as their new captain. It's suggested that they've reached out to the concerned parties already, and SKY is willing to take up the offer. MI though is unwilling to leave both Hardik Pandya and SKY together. The stance as it stands is only if HP stays at MI, SKY maybe traded to LSG.
- PBKS emerging as the top most contender to get Hardik Pandya. RR and KKR closely in the race taking the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. It's how things stand now, but as with any developing story things can change until the papers are signed.
- PBKS prefers to get Hardik Pandya in exchange of Arshdeep Singh in a straight swap, but MI wants other players tagged. The good thing is, on Arshdeep, both are in agreement.
- It was hinted that one of the reasons why IPL retention date has been extended is coz Shreyas Iyer capt of PBKS will be involved with ICT as capt in the last 2 ODIs, while PBKS would be battling it out with other contenders for HP trade. An extension allows last min communications with the capt. The broadcasters also wanted some players free and available for bites/interviews and other engagements on retention day.
- RR don't have much of a problem with Yashasvi Jaiswal to MI, but they're not willing to give Jofra Archer. Other options like Ravi Bishnoi and Brijesh Sharma offered to MI, which's not obviously been accepted yet.
