1/ Project Triforce is a grid of Ethereum Classic nodes we run. It serves the public RPC and watches the network: client diversity, reorgs, the mempool and every peer it can see.
Four clients. Three providers. Three regions. Three sync modes.
Here’s why each number is there. 🧵

Zcash’s preconfirmations proposal: merchants get a signed receipt that a payment is on its way into a block.
Accept payments in seconds, not after confirmations. No consensus change, and it fits any proof-of-work chain, including Ethereum Classic.
Is it worth building on $ETC?

The median Ethereum Classic transaction fee in September was 0.00021 $ETC, about $0.0016 at today’s price, less than a fifth of a cent.
A dollar covers about 600 transactions. Users won’t even notice the fee.
The query is in the reply if you want to check it.

Three ideas we brought home from #TOKEN2049🇸🇬
• Preconfirmations: merchants can accept ETC in seconds, with no protocol change
• Hash-based security: #ETH is heading there, ETC is already there
• Cypherpunk roots: Zcash tells the story loudly, ETC should more often
Which should $ETC take on first?

This one was interesting: comparing the top holders of $ETC at the time of The DAO hard fork.
The top 10 ETC holders at block 1,920,000, where Ethereum and Ethereum Classic split.
#4 is the DAO attacker, with 3.64M $ETC.
#2 and #9 are the White Hat DAOs, holding about 7.88M ETC rescued from The DAO.
On #Ethereum, the fork moved all of those funds into a refund contract. On #EthereumClassic nothing moved, so they show up here exactly where they sat.
The rest of the list is the 2016 ecosystem: four exchanges (Kraken, Poloniex, Bitfinex and Gemini), the Ethereum Foundation’s EthDev wallet and a genesis address.
An archive node can’t give you this list without going through the whole chain. In BigQuery, it’s one query. 👇

Last week we put Ethereum Classic back in Google BigQuery.
Every block, transaction, log, token transfer and trace, from genesis to today:

Public, kept current, first TiB of queries a month free.

Full ETC history is back in BigQuery: same schema as ETH, existing queries work with one-line change. Kept current by our team at @classix_dev, and the first TiB of queries each month is free.

On Wednesday @drakefjustin asked holders to consider moving funds to addresses that have never signed.
We ran the numbers on ETC:
83% of ETC sits at addresses whose public key is on-chain.
14.5M ETC is on keys that haven't signed in 3+ years.

Classix rebuilt it from their own archive nodes.
This is what community-driven infrastructure looks like. 🔍

Ethereum Classic is back in Google BigQuery.

Now anyone can query the entire ETC chain in SQL, including questions an archive node alone can’t easily answer. 🔍

We had a blast on the @ETCGrantsDao AMA last week. Thanks for having us!💚
And if you caught Istora's little breadcrumb: something special is coming back to ETC — this one's for the builders.🛠️
It's just around the corner. 👀
What's next for #EthereumClassic?
@Classic_Kevin_ and @Istora_ETC sat down with @ETCGrantsDAO to talk:
• Core ETC infrastructure: Triforce public Nix configs, RPC endpoint, block explorer
• Client diversity on $ETC: Nethermind, Besu, Classic Geth
• Where @classix_dev fits in the ecosystem

A chain is only as decentralized as its centralized bottleneck.
That means more than one of:
Clients
Mining pools
Exchanges
RPC endpoints + explorers
Dev funding sources
Including teams — that means us too.

A chain is only as decentralized as its least replicated layer.
Clients, pools, exchanges, RPCs, explorers, and funding are all single points of failure if they exist in one or few hands.
Replication across independent operators removes custody. Dependency on any one team, including @classix_dev, restores it.

Sovereign grade censorship resistance means one thing:
No nation state, company, or foundation can stop the chain.
Not "hasn't," but Could Never.
Once one party can, you are trusting that party. Trusted third-parties are security holes.
Two towers can look identical from the street.
The difference is underground:
Layer 1: the chain
Layer 0: the people
Layer -1: the principles beneath the people
Soil moves. Bedrock doesn't.
