We’re about to see a breakout in local model capabilities.
Flint scores 54.9% on Terminal-Bench 2.1 with ~2B active parameters. That’s ahead of every other small MoE and two of the three dense ~30B models.
It only needs about 24GB and runs at 125+ tok/s on a MacBook Pro.
Run it in Cline now:
1) Install Cline:
npm i -g cline
Or use our desktop app:
cline.bot/desktop
2) Configure local models through Ollama:

3) Install Flint:

Use the Goal plugin in Cline Desktop to keep Cline working until the task is verified complete.
Customize > Marketplace > Plugins > Install 'Goal' > use /goal
Plugins are TypeScript files that extend Cline's capabilities with:
- Slash commands
- Custom tools
- Lifecycle hooks (beforeTool, afterRun, etc.)
- Dynamic rules
The Goal plugin adds a /goal slash command and an afterRun hook that nudges Cline to verify its work, and only when verified complete can it call the plugin's custom mark_goal_complete tool to finish the task.
Check out the docs to see how plugins work across Desktop, the CLI, and the SDK:

MiniMax M3.1 Flash goes toe-to-toe with Opus and GPT on coding at ~25x lower cost.
This was the model behind Space Bunny, the stealth model that’s been topping usage leaderboards recently.

MiniMax M3.1 Flash: Space Performance + Bunny Speed
🚀🐰 Yes, Space Bunny - which has topped global leaderboards with 200T+ tokens - was an earlier version of M3.1 Flash.
💰Redefining the performance economics of agentic AI. M3.1 Flash achieves frontier-level intelligence across key tasks such as Cowork (Automation-Bench: 62%; ALE: 30%), Coding (DeepSWE: 74%) and Visual Reasoning (BabyVision: 91%), at 1/3 the cost of M3 and 3x the speed.
API pricing (flat rate): $0.15 / $0.60 per 1M input/output tokens, with cache reads at $0.015 / 1M tokens.
Model weights will arrive on Oct 23.

DeepSeek V4.1-Flash-1017 has released, beating GPT 5.6 Sol on Terminal-Bench while being ~17x cheaper.
It improves the previous DeepSeek V4.1-Flash result by 35%, accomplished with "no algorithmic innovation" but instead by RL training it on multiple coding agent harnesses.
The weights have already been open sourced here:

Gemini 4 Argon had the best launch day user share of any frontier model on Cline since June.
~3x as many users tried it on day one as Claude Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5.
We're also seeing Argon using 30% fewer tokens on average than Claude models. It's a really efficient model!
Gemini 4 Argon is #1 on Val Index, completing agentic tasks at half the cost of Opus 5.5.
Google shared that the Chrome team recently used Argon to refactor ~6 million lines of legacy features out of a 40-million line codebase, eliminating an entire category of browser crashes.
