None of this really matters, but my interpretation of the coachspeak: Jones can run Steichen's system, AR/Leonard cannot. But Jones isn't able to functionally run that system this season either due to 4 or 5 things making his play barely operational. It's a mess.
Colts coach Shane Steichen today on QB Daniel Jones: "He's proven that he can do it. So that's where the confidence comes from. And we need to get him back playing to that level that he was last year. It's taking a little bit longer."

That's a ridiculous flag on the Packers! St Brown didn't think he was down. Packers tackled accordingly. You gotta use some common sense...

It doesn't really matter what Steichen says. The ship has already sank; he's auditioning loyalty for his next QB. (Also in all likelihood: he HATES AR...) But the correct answer in coachspeak is: "The offense wasn't good enough; we'll review the tape and assess everything."
#Colts HC Shane Steichen says he has NOT considered a QB change because he has “a lot of faith” in Daniel Jones.

I mean, yeah, you cannot keep doing this. Vikings are incredible and forced the issue, but Jones is non-operational from the jump.
Daniel Jones with just 2.6 yards per dropback today. That ranks 206th among 207 qualified games this season.

If Colts do turn to Anthony Richardson (doubtful), it will just be a different flavor of bad. But you can't keep going to this same well with Daniel Jones. The cavalry ain't coming at WR and this script has become non-operational.

Why does it feel like UDFA injury replacement DBs are always making more plays on the ball than Mooney Ward, Cam Bynum and Sauce Gardner?

If Colts hold on to win this, I'm confident the takeaway is *not* "no wait we should keep this roster intact because it has the foundation of a true contender."

Was Jonathan Taylor this lousy at pass-blocking earlier in his career? I know he's been rough for a few seasons now but I don't remember him being that much of a liability his first few years.

I can't find the original tweet, but whoever said Daniel Jones is bad and boring while Anthony Richardson is bad and entertaining is so so correct. Zero chance Steichen plays Richardson but zero reason anyone should care to watch Jones.

Won't lie, I have almost entirely second-screened this Colts game. Editing videos on primary monitor. Looks like defense has stepped up, Taylor/McGowan look good, but offense is just lacking too many blocking details (with Daniel Jones being Daniel Jones). Fairly accurate?

Man, I wish Jonathan Taylor fit the timeline of the Colts' rebuild better... Just so fun to watch.

No one ever accused Chris Ballard of being bad at drafting run-stopping DEs!

Who knows where his draft stock ends up, or where the Colts up, or where any of us end up by next April. But I continue to be intrigued by Aiden Chiles as someone Colts might consider drafting.
QB play for JUST this weekends games. Up first is the Power 4. Darian Mensah in his usual spot, AIDEN CHILES BABY! Kevin Jennings, Isaac Wilson up there as well

While he's obviously not exclusively responsible for that stat, settling on Jacob Savage as the third LB has been crucial for #iufb. And you have to figure he's only getting better from here...
A number ran across while writing the Monday Morning Insider today: In five Big Ten games, Indiana opponents are averaging 1.97 yards per carry, across 180 attempts. #iufb

I think I could make a second career (maybe a primary career) out of tech support for people who are simply too lazy to Google a solution. There's a real market there.

Interesting Carlie Irsay-Gordon views Taylor as a "mainstay in their rebuild". Taylor is the player I would be most sad to see go, but I don't think he fits a rebuild timeline at all, especially when you're likely not able to take a shot on a rookie QB until at least 2028.

Right. Saying a 6-0 lead (in the first half!) was enough to cruise to victory on is insane. It worked to a single result, but that's not a sustainable process.
Replying to @cmccollo
He made it pretty clear postgame he was relying on the defense and they talked about Hoover coming out for Wilson. O feel it worked out just how he wanted, get 1 score and have the defense get a stop

I'm worried Cignetti is walking away from this one with the (wildly) wrong takeaway....
Cignetti to Don Fischer postgame: "I just felt like if we didn't screw it up on offense, once we got the 6-0 lead, that they couldn't beat us." #iufb

Hard to criticize #iufb defense, who are clearly one of the nation's best again and won that game with zero help from the offense. ...but I don't love Tommy Carr breaking contain and getting out of the pocket for the three millionth time on that 4th down.
