Polkadot is reducing its active validator set from 600 to 320. @paritytech @Web3foundation @BillLaboon Does it come with less rewards in total or does each validators then get a greater share? Would be nice to see the parameters change in order to reduce selling pressure.

In the future, Polkadot validators will be paid in fixed amounts of dotUSD instead of DOT. If this is implemented judiciously, it could significantly reduce the current selling pressure. Please, let's get this right.

$5000 for 4 weeks. Are Mexicans dumber than others, that they need a school to teach them about Polkadot? Or are there just friends who'd like to be gifted some money? Come on, I thought we were past that! I hope Phase 2 doesn't actually launch. (How much $ will that be then?)
Web3 Foundation has voted today on two Polkadot Referenda: 1952: AYE. This is a reasonably priced projected from a proven team to teach people about Polkadot. 1953: AYE. This is a technical fix to transfer 3.36 million stablecoins which were intended to go to the Treasury already.

To all whales, validators, tech staff, and the entire community: Can we pump polkadot:native above $2? Can we do it? Let’s make Polkadot great again in November. Don't sell! Top 20 should be the minimum goal.

dotUSD is coming to Polkadot. Validators will soon be paid in fixed amounts of it. Let’s ensure these amounts are set sensibly. If we don’t mess this up again, we could actually effectively limit selling pressure on Polkadot. Also, let’s not be late again. Fingers crossed!🤨🫣

Meanwhile: Treasury = paycheck The sale of DOT for these stablecoins has led to the current price levels. Please spend sparingly to delay the next sell-off.
UPDATE: Another $840'000 in stablecoins (half USDT, half USDC) have been added to the Polkadot Treasury. That's 1.89 million USD to the Treasury in the last two weeks. Verify extrinsics below and see quoted tweet for more details. assethub-polkadot.subscan.io… assethub-polkadot.subscan.io…

Thank you @GStaking for the honest details. That should be rewarded with a nomination.🫡 And we should all consider whether Polkadot’s DAP was truly calculated in a balanced way, or whether it came about primarily due to the self-interest of the decision-makers.
Replying to @cocokrypt
Hey coco For me a month VAT Incl and personal / company taxes excluded : Main server : 160€ Backup server : 89€ (very low price, it supposed to be 120 or 160€ today) 1 Virtual machine for monitoring: 8€ TT ~ 260€ (for me) and 330€ (based with 2*160€)

Who will bring the next killer app? Polkadot makes it easy af.
I think people get confused as to what "Asset Conversion" is and mistakenly try to draw comparisons to EVM-Land DEXs. Asset Conversion is the assetConversion pallet. It exists in the Polkadot Asset Hub runtime. You can permissionlessly create pools for token pairs using assetConversion CreatePool. You can permissionlessly add liquidity using assetConversion addLiquidity. The things that people call "DEXs" in this case (on Polkadot Asset Hub) are (currently) just front end UIs. They simply tap into these pools. It doesn't matter if it's KheopsSwap, Nova Wallet, or Hello_Kitty_Swap_420. So don't ask what DEX the liquidity is on, as any "DEX" can just tap into these pools. With regard to "where is the swap activity coming from" - you also won't know, unless the particular front end you are using adds some systemRemark or something along with your token swap :) You probably can make some web app for these swaps in about 10 minutes with your favourite AI btw.

Selling pressure on Polkadot has only shifted from nominators to validators. The modified implementation of #1710 was an inside job. With these tokenomics, $DOT will never rise above $3 again, because IT IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE. Stop lying to yourselves. Change the circumstances.

OpenGov is controlled by a few whales. The new DAP staking system was quietly introduced with the hard cap—a measure actually intended to reduce selling pressure. Rewards will soon be paid out in dotUSD. You can draw your own conclusions.

Would it be possible to introduce incentives for compounding staking rewards within Polkadot's staking model? @Polkadot @paritytech @BillLaboon

OpenGov was a marketing lie from the very beginning. Polkadot’s ICO made democratic conditions impossible from the start. I don’t know what change could set that right. Perhaps Proof of Personhood will provide the cure. Right now, it is just a company under centralized control.
It's time to wake up ex-@Polkadot voters. OpenGov is quiet, and in the hands of a limit number of wallets now, but you should consider to undelegate to indiv/entities that stop voting🫷🏻 Those having Discord Bots stopped their infra. It's time to redelegate on remaining ones...

There will only be 2.1 billion DOT. Get your share. Polkadot will be great again!

Current situation: DOT holders do not vote in OpenGov because they are powerless. If DOT holders vote in OpenGov, they are powerless. We need a counterweight to "skin in the game." One person, one vote. Make $DOT great again.

And now that we have busted these myths, it would be time to take serious steps to reduce the sell pressure from the high incentives for Polkadot validators. A win-win also for validators. Let's make $DOT great again.
Myth: Polkadot validators must sell all their rewards to cover infrastructure costs. Reality: A high-performance cloud setup can cost as little as £55–£110 per month, depending on the region. Servers with more robust customisation live in the higher bracket. Myth: Running a Polkadot validator is time-consuming and requires constant technical oversight. Reality: Automated playbooks can streamline deployment, upgrades, and migrations, while the cloud provider manages the underlying infrastructure and uptime. Myth: Globally dispersing validators always improves resilience and network performance. Reality: Geographic diversity can support decentralization, but it does not guarantee better performance. Because much of the active validator set is concentrated in Europe, well-connected European regions typically provide the lowest latency and most consistent performance. polkadot.cloud/validators $DOT #Polkadot

More accountability would actually be an important step that many would probably welcome. Why not record the whole thing on-chain?
So the Fellowship is a group of very smart people who get paid a lot of money to keep Polkadot running. Fine. Great. But the document that defines them was written before half the stuff they do existed. So I tried to fix it.

I would suggest the following: Pay future salaries exclusively in fixed DOT amounts. Perhaps that would foster a fundamental rethinking of certain strategies.
