The severe heat wave in Telangana is made worse by the unhealthy air we breathe. What steps are you taking to combat air pollution, @TelanganaPCB

Online monitoring of color codes is a step forward👏👏, but let's not forget, real change requires more than just digital oversight. Vigilant enforcement & on-ground action, beyond mere penalties, are crucial to set precedents & instill a genuine fear of the law! @AapKaGopalRai
Delhi's battle against pollution continues as over 280 construction sites lack air quality sensors. Something being raised since 2021. Envt Department's new online framework, featuring color-coded monitoring, aims to track & mitigate dust pollution effectively! @Warriormomsin

.@TelanganaPCB is clearly cherry picking data to show that AQI in Hyderabad has improved in 2023. I have been posting the daily AQI since December 20, 2023, and that data tells a very different story. This is the AQI in Hyderabad from 20 Dec '23 to 18 Jan '24
Hyderabad Air Got Better- Report Hyderabad has shown an improvement in the air quality in 2023 when compared to the previous years from 2019 onwards as per the World Air Quality Report, 2023. Telangana Pollution Control Board claims the concentrations of PM10 fell from 101 µg/m³ in 2019-20 to 83 µg/m³ in 2023-2024 up to the current date in Hyderabad. Patancheru, Nalgonda, and Sangareddy have also shown a significant decline in the concentrations of PM10. As per the IIT Kanpur study report, the major source contributions for air pollution in the GHMC area are as follows: road dust - 32%, vehicles - 18%, SIA (Secondary Inorganic Aerosols) - 16%, biomass burning - 11%, C&D (Construction and Demolition) waste - 8%, MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) burning - 7%, industrial - 5%, and others - 9%. As per the report, India is the 3rd most air-polluted country. #Hyderabad #AirPollution

In 2022-23 alone, deaths due to COPD increased nine times as compared to the last seven years, a reply to an RTI filed by @IndianExpress; 2022-2023 saw the highest number of deaths — 886 — while the numbers in the last seven years did not cross 150!

The #AirPollution in the mornings is coming from dozens of such large waste fires around the city. @gurgaonpolice should use police patrol cars to enforce Section 144 ban. This one is from Tigra, forwarding from @cleanAirBharat whatsapp group. @cmohry

Delhi's trash mountains aren't just eyesores; they're global methane hotspots. With 124 leaks since 2020, urgent action is needed. Lack of waste segregation worsens the issue! theguardian.com/world/2024/f… via @HannahEP @AakashHassan

#AirPollution is a catalyst for #heartattacks. Hear it from the renowned Indian cardiologist, Dr Naresh Trehan👇 Video courtesy @icareforlungs from #DoctorsForCleanAir! @ani_digital @CAQM_Official @CPCB_OFFICIAL @MoHFW_INDIA
#WATCH | On increasing heart attacks in the winter season, Chairman & Head, Cardiology, Max hospitals, Dr Balbir Singh says, "So as such, the heart problem is increasing in our country. This is a known fact, and we have to accept it, we have to find solutions to it rather than shying away and saying it's a misnomer or somebody's creating this story. We can see more patients. We see younger patients. We're seeing, all kinds of, varieties of heart disease. Heart diseases are on the rise in our country. Yes, winter is a big stress, for the heart. The heart is one of the major organs which suffers during winter, and we know why it does so. We can already see a spike happening, in our hospital every day on average, we get about two heart attack (patients) who come. Last month, there were 40 total heart attack (patients) that we treated. In January, it's going to be even a little more than what 40 was. So we understand why it happens but the question is that everybody should know that it happens, and there are ways to go around it, and there are ways to prevent such a problem...We know how many, heart attacks we treated in May and June. It is almost double that number. So you can clearly see the trend is upward in winter. No age group which is now immune...This awareness that even young people can get it, even young need to take precautions that can help this country in a big way because we don't want youngsters to get heart attacks. They have so much work to do for the country and for themselves..."

Happy New Year, Hyderabad We begin 2024 with “very unhealthy” air quality. @TelanganaPCB can you make a resolution to identify the causes of this and to make recommendations to remove/reduce them? @TelanganaCMO
We end the year with another day where the air quality in Hyderabad is “poor” and PM is so high visibility is low even at noontime. @TelanganaPCB @TelanganaCMO this is urgent.

If the government was serious about fighting for #cleanair, it should have ensured that the issue was discussed in the #parliament winter session & that’s why the children went nearest possible to be heard, to convey their misery & angst with #AirPollution! #BachonKaHakSaafHawa

Correct me if I am wrong but our PM has never spoken publicly about #AirPollution - atleast to assuage our concerns about the devastating effects? Perhaps I may have missed "Man ki baat". ...Whatever.... AQI remains grim over his 2 terms in capital Delhi.

@smartivitylabs Have you authorised @blinkitcares to unseal products to check contents before reselling to customers? Afaik it is an illegal practice and defeats the whole purpose of preventing tampering. I have emails from Blinkit confirming this @jagograhakjago pls take action

On Christmas Day, Hyderabad wakes up to yet another day when the air quality is hazardous. @TelanganaCMO @revanth_anumula this should be the top priority of your government. We are all breathing air that will make us sick.
AQI in Hyderabad and it’s surrounding areas is still hazardous. We can literally smell the pollutants. @TelanganaCMO @revanth_anumula please stop Hyderabad from becoming a Delhi. Reducing private vehicles is a start, but it will not work unless public transport is improved.

Another morning of waking up to Hazardous air quality! @revanth_anumula Dear CM this needs to be on top of your agenda. This is the 10th day running of bad air and it only seems to be getting worse. We need a public awareness campaign, GRAP & functioning public monitors to begin
