Mel Gibson, after losing his Malibu home in the devastating January 2025 LA fires, opens up with raw faith: "I feel like I'm being stripped down and prepared for something else... I feel like the Almighty is preparing me to do something big." He reflects: God gives, God takes—we enter and leave with nothing. But "seek first the kingdom of God, and you'll always be okay. You'll get what you need." Echoing his dad's favorite passage (Matthew 6): "Look at the flowers of the field... look at the birds of the air. They get fed. They get clothed." Stop worrying about stuff—it's all temporary. In the interview, he sees the loss as a strange blessing: a purification, freeing him to focus on bigger callings (like his upcoming Resurrection of the Christ sequel). A powerful reminder that sometimes what feels like total loss is actually preparation. In tough times, have you ever felt stripped down—only to discover it cleared the way for something meaningful? What's one "stripped away" moment that led to growth or purpose for you?

I’m curious if there are still Manila residents or anyone who can still trace their lineage to the deposed royalties of the old Manila (like Rajah Matanda and Rajah Sulayman) and Tondo. Imagine to have a lineage that is technically “royal”.

First Friday Prayer to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, on this first Friday of the year, we adore You, we thank You, and we place this new year entirely within Your loving Heart. Merciful Heart of Jesus, burning with love for humanity, receive our lives, our families, our work, our plans, and even our uncertainties. Whatever this year holds, its joys and its trials, we surrender it all to You. Purify our intentions, heal what is wounded within us, and reorder our hearts to love what You love. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, source of mercy and compassion, forgive our sins and the sins of the world. Where we have been unfaithful, restore us. Where we have grown cold, rekindle charity. Where we are anxious about the future, anchor us in Your peace. We consecrate this year to You. May every decision be guided by Your wisdom, every burden carried with Your strength, and every success returned to You in gratitude. Make our hearts gentle and humble like Yours, patient in suffering, faithful in service, and courageous in love. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we trust in You. Jesus meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like yours. Reign in our hearts, reign in our homes, reign in our world, now and always. Amen.

Prayer for the Last Day of 2025 Heavenly Father, Here I am, standing at the very end of this year. The final page of 2025 is turning, and I come before You with a heart full of memories, lessons, tears, growth, and gratitude. Thank you for carrying me through this year. Thank You for every moment I survived, every battle You fought for me, and every breath You allowed me to take. Some days were joyful, some were painful, some were confusing but through it all, You never left me. Lord, as this year closes, I lay everything at Your feet. The victories I celebrated. The losses I still feel. The prayers that were answered. And the ones I’m still waiting on. As this year comes to an end, I ask You to cleanse my heart and renew my spirit. Remove fear, doubt, and heaviness. Replace them with peace, healing, and quiet confidence in You. Lord, I close this year with gratitude not because it was perfect, but because You were faithful. I step into the new year lighter, wiser, and more anchored in Your grace. Take everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve survived, and use it to prepare me for what’s ahead. I trust that what’s coming will be greater, gentler, and filled with purpose. Thank you for walking with me through 2025. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank You for the hope that still burns in my heart. As this year comes to an end, I place my future in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"Nobody understood why Dad kept the storage unit. Cost him $89 a month. We told him to cancel it, sell the stuff, save the money. He's 68, retired on a fixed income. Can barely afford his medication. But every month, without fail, $89 to Store-All on Industrial Drive. "What's even in there?" I asked last Christmas. "Things people need," he said. Wouldn't explain further. I followed him there in March. Couldn't help myself. Worried he was hoarding, losing his mind, wasting money we didn't have. Watched him unlock unit 247. It was full. Furniture. Appliances. Clothes on racks. Kitchen supplies. Bedding. Toys. All organized, labeled, clean. A woman with three kids met him there. He walked her through like a store. "Take whatever you need. No rush. No charge." She left with a microwave, dishes, winter coats for the kids, blankets. Crying. Thanking him over and over. "Dad, what is this?" He sighed. "When your mom and I divorced in '92, I moved into an empty apartment. Slept on the floor for three months. Ate off paper plates. It broke something in me, that emptiness. Made a promise then. If I ever could, I'd help people starting over." "But $89 a month" "I don't need much. But they need everything. People leaving abuse. People getting out of shelters. Refugees. Anyone starting from zero." He'd been doing it for eleven years. Filled that unit with donated furniture, thrift store finds, things neighbors gave him. Gave it all away to people rebuilding their lives. Over 200 families. "Why didn't you tell us?" "Because you'd try to stop me. Say I can't afford it. But I can't afford not to. You don't forget what empty feels like." I posted about it on Facebook. Just a photo of Dad in his storage unit, brief explanation. Asked if anyone had furniture to donate. It exploded. 4,000 shares in two days. Donations poured in. Furniture stores contributed. People rented additional units. Five units now. Volunteers helping. "Dad's Second Start" it's called. Sixteen storage facilities across the state doing the same thing. Furnishing empty apartments for people escaping, recovering, beginning again. Dad still pays for his original unit though. Won't let anyone else cover it. "It's my promise," he says. "Some things you pay for yourself." Last week, a woman showed up with her daughter. "Your dad furnished my apartment in 2015 when I left my abusive husband. I'm a social worker now. I send people to him. Brought dishes to donate." Dad cried. Doesn't cry often. Because he remembers sleeping on an empty floor. And he made sure hundreds of others never had to." . Let this story reach more hearts.... . Ai image is for demonstration purpose only. . Hi, guys. We are not okay here in Cebu. Walang kuryente. Barely any signal. Strong winds and heavy rains pa rin. Binabaha yung mga places na least namin inexpect na bahain. Again, we’re not okay in Cebu and pls help us spread the word.

On the evening of Tuesday, 30 September, a strong earthquake struck the central region of the Philippines, particularly the province of Cebu and its neighboring provinces. I express my closeness to the dear Filipino people, and in particular I pray for those who are most severely affected by the consequences of the earthquake. Faced with any danger, let us remain united and supportive in our trust in God and in the intercession of our Blessed Mother.

ICE officers stopped by our farm yesterday. “We need to inspect your property for illegal aliens,” one of them said. I replied, “Alright, but whatever you do, don’t go into that field over there.” The officer in charge exploded. “Mister, I have the authority of the federal government behind me!” he barked, reaching into his back pocket. He yanked out a badge and shoved it in my face. “See this fucking badge? This badge means I can go wherever I want on ANY land. No questions asked, no answers given. Am I clear? Do you understand?” I nodded politely and said, “Be my guest.” Then I went back to my chores. About ten minutes later, I heard screaming. I looked up and saw six ICE agents running for their lives, being chased by my big, mean, old bull. And with every step, that bull was closing in. Fast. It looked like they were about to get gored for sure. So I dropped my tools, ran over to the fence, and shouted at the top of my lungs: “YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR FUCKING BADGE!”

OUR MODERN-DAY HEROES 🥺🙏🏻💪🏼 WATCH: Several teachers braved a swollen river in Sitio Banlas, Barangay Kihan, Malapatan, Sarangani, as they tried to get home from Akbual Elementary School in Upper Suyan. According to Teacher Jailene Tusan, who uploaded the video, concerned residents stepped in to help them cross the strong current. The area has no bridge, forcing them to take the risk. Despite the danger, the teachers pushed on, determined to return home safely. 🎥 Courtesy: Teacher Jailene Tusan via Efren Mamac, One Mindanao
