One statistic that's kinda flown under the radar: Only 24% of PA voters approve of Josh Shapiro's handling of AI data centers, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll. (34% disapprove.) Shapiro said he was "all in on AI" last year before pivoting recently and calling for more oversight of data centers. poll.qu.edu/poll-release?rel…
Plenty of Democrats have gone all in against data centers in 2026. It’s a big part of Will Lawrence’s campaign in #MI07. Abdul El-Sayed has done it too. Fascinating to see a swing district Democrat in #PA08 do it too.

The @AP's coverage of the Butler assassination attempt was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News. Three people I worked with on that coverage are now gone from AP via layoffs or buyouts, taking with them great skill, sourcing and decades of institutional knowledge.
Another hall of fame class of journalists is leaving @AP — this one involuntarily via layoffs. Reporters in big cities and state capitols. People who’ve broken some of the biggest stories of our time and improved the public’s understanding of important issues. It’s heartbreaking.

Observation: GOP State Committeeman Bryant Glick is listed as the treasurer of Tyler Meyers' primary PAC against incumbent Republican state Sen. Lisa Baker in the 20th Senate District. Not sure if this would violate the state GOP's rules. Haven't heard back yet.

Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post offering “financial runway." This month it gutted its newsroom—more than 300 layoffs. Whatever you think of legacy news, the hard data shows us that newspaper closures hurt Americans. Here's how: 🧵
