It’s that time again.
Thoughts on shooting Woodcock.
I have, and enjoyed eating them. But it’s time to stop. Yes there is nuance in terms of geography and timing, but there isn’t enough effort in terms of conservation. Taking Woodcock is a really really bad look for shooting
So “TikTok likes” have killed more people ? 5 ne’er-do-wells, on the wrong side of the road at 3am…… and v sadly 2 police officers ……

Help Find This Scumbag!
This man brutally and repeatedly smashed a Seagull against the wall of the Harbour View Cafe in Truro because it tried to steal some food. He then stuffed the Seagull through the fence onto the road where if floundered with two broken wings.
This was in front of numerous people and children who were hugely upset.

Part 1 of my 3rd trip to the Lakes this year has been very different to the first two weather wise. Very wet. Managed Grey Friar and Hard Knott on Tuesday pm when dry. Lingmell yesterday and the 3 Greendale #Wainwrights today. 30 left. Part 2 is with friends this weekend

Why the silence on this @networkrail? In the face of increasing public anger? These birds will have travelled around 14,000 miles when they return to their nesting holes - only to find them blocked up. Nature is increasingly squeezed into ever-shrinking spaces, forced to fit around our sprawling network of transport and housing and commerce. Please act NOW to rectify your thoughtless actions!

As a retired 35 year GP +ex Vice Chair of NICE I am at a loss over the lack of evidence (not) underpinning this policy, the lack of accountability in the decisions made , the waste of time for all, particularly the patients , the poor clinical governance+ poor risk assessment

There are serious concerns among clinicians and patients over the changes to how GPs refer to a hospital specialist.

Dr Evans is absolutely right: the question is whether when a GP of years of medical training and experience seeks specialist advice will the person providing that advice (or rejecting the referral) be an actual specialist? Or even a doctor?
Labour doesn’t know or care

The Government was asked a simple question by @drcarolinej - could the Government show evidence for mandating a Single Point of Access for GP referrals to be reviewed.
The answer: "We trust GPs" 🤔
So why is Labour bringing in a system that literally overrides GP judgement?

I have just messaged @NetworkRail regarding them blocking Swift nest entrances on Chapel Milton viaducts.
I’ll let you know if they get back to me.
In the UK, it is illegal to block, damage, or destroy active swift nesting sites under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981!!
