20% increase in children riding bikes because the roads felt safer. This is a wonderful thing. It’d be an outrages act of self harm if we didn’t fall over ourselves to ensure they keep that right.

What's neat about Lachlan Morton is how he represents this shift in cycling, away from results, toward soulful experiences/challenges/feats. It's always been there (legends like @RebeccaRusch etc) but social media's made it bigger. Cycling = new surfing? wsj.com/articles/he-climbed-…

1) Have a look at safest places in the world to ride a bike and see what they advocate. 2) look at least safe places to ride a bike and see what they do. 3) Look at places they made ⛑ mandatory and see what happened to cycling levels and injury rates. 4) Form your opinion 👍

For all the motorists that moan about being delayed by a minute or two before they can overtake a cyclist or horse rider... Footage from a motorway, where there are no cyclists or horse riders. The vast majority of delays are caused by motorists.

So, weekend coming up, weather looks nice, if you’re going to ride a bike... Once a day Close to home AT LEAST 2m away from anyone else. Don’t even think about going out with anyone You don’t live with. We need exercise to get through this and stay healthy. Don’t abuse it 👍
