Walk with me around Saint John the Baptist basilica in Savannah.
Founded as a cathedral in 1850.
Designed by Ephraim Francis Baldwin in the Gothic Revival (High Victorian Gothic / French Gothic) style, it was the first church building in Georgia constructed of brick. Notable elements include:
• Twin spires rising about 214 feet (with a roof height of roughly 96 feet)
• A large rose window on the facade
• Approximately 81 stained-glass windows and 16 gargoyles
• White Italian marble altars (main and side altars by Baldwin & Price of Baltimore)
• Polychrome painted ceilings, murals of biblical scenes, marbleized columns, and a pipe organ
The interior is luminous and ornate, with soaring vaults and rich decoration that was largely recreated after the 1898 fire.
One of the finest cathedrals that I have ever visited. It should be on your must see list on a visit to Charleston.

In 2017 I was an Iron Worker in Central Florida, still new to the area. Hurricane Irma was out in the Pacific sending warnings but I didn't think much of it after riding Matthew out and no one else was worried due to projected path at that time.
Man we're we wrong, that big Bitch turned right and went straight up the gut of Florida moving very slowly destroying everything in its path.
I boarded up my house, helped a few friends. Work was canceled until further notice. She was already destroying South Florida, by next afternoon we could feel her in Orlando heading directly at us.
It's about 4pm 9/9/17 I head to Racetrack to top off on fuel beer smokes and snacks and we headed to a party where we were told not to worry about any of those things. The stories there are several other posts.
9/11/17 we wake up to a devastated State of Emergency as the storm leaves Central Florida on its way to Georgia. With only 2hrs of sleep and a serious hangover, I go to work clearing the property where we rode out the storm then our property.
For the next week before we returned to work i was fixing leaks tarping roofs and removing trees for friends, family and colleagues. It was only a matter of months of doing both i bought this trailer and TB1 Construction was born.
I got back into residential construction a world i had been away from for over 10yrs, over the next several years, I was recognized by many prominent institutions and received multiple awards for my service during this time.
The majority of the work I did was for a large contractor in Central Florida that sent me all over the state. In 2018 during a banquet i was awarded "Employee of the year" and "Master Carpenter" during the speech, the president of the company said "This man can reverse Engineer and fix anything you throw at him with any team available"
It was there proudest day in my career and I wanted to leave the building immediately. I don't know where I got the strength but I gave an acceptance speech to a large crowd and I had them in tears, laughing as I made fun of the owners and salesmen.
