posted this and realized I haven't sent an email in 6/mo so wrote a huge update with everything that happened and what I learned; here's the list:
- We let go of 40+ people across my companies (reason below)
- Got married
- Ended up shaving my head lol
- Nobody trains you for success
- Got a dog
- Bought quite a lot of real estate
- Grew the business to $100m this year (on track) aiming to 10x in the next 12-16 /mo's
- Hosted a bunch of meetups which made me realize this is something I wanna do more with
- So > I launched another company called context (more below)
- Overcame my health issues and my complete loss of hunger and joy for building (more below)
I've got an email list of 40k people that I'm not doing anything with. Let's brainstorm some ideas here 👇
Thank you for everyone who reached out; I ended up building something myself, here's how I did it:
My whole vlog archive now lives in one system:
> Originals → Backblaze B2, fingerprinted + locked
> 720p previews → Cloudflare R2
> Every clip → a row in Supabase
> Transcripts → MLX Whisper
> Raw clips auto-matched to the published YouTube cut
> 15 TB + a simple (local) Mac app for the uploads
Saved myself around $12k a year and will be able to supercharge my creative team 10x'ing output.

I have tens of TB of footage. What's the best way to store this and sort this with A.I.? Also an affordable way to host this would be nice, lol.
Very interesting to see creative directors of these big companies build a brand on the back of it.
It reminds me of something I was shouting a two years ago around the office.

We built this over the weekend to start taking my meetups to the next level (1000's of people in a venue).
It'll be called "context-con".
Reason being that I think context is the most important thing in today's world. With how fast AI moves (us building an entire product in one day, which we also documented is proof of this) the only thing between you and building something is the right context and action.
I'm going to bring in my network to speak, host workshops, live conversations/podcasts and the best thing is - I'm going to make this completely for free.
We're going to make money with sponsorships and merchandise (which we will also document).
