Congrats to @carmenli - huge leap forward for compute trading! TLDR: > Two contracts: Silicon Data H100 and B200 Rental Index Futures, launching 5 Oct pending reg review > Listing on NYMEX, clearing via CME ClearPort > 730 GPU-hours per contract (one month's rent for a single GPU), cash-settled vs the Silicon Data index > 36 consecutive monthlies from Oct; trading ceases on the last BD of the contract month What this represents is the creation of a tradable curve out to Sept 2029 which realistically means a liquid 3–6 month strip with nominal pricing beyond it. For the time being, long-dated compute will remain a basis-and-warehouse problem (MMs would need to roll liquid futs to hedge deltas), BUT super excited to see these launch in Q4!
