🚨 Important - Please Read Coach wanted everyone to be aware of this incident for awareness. Well I’ve learned a big lesson this past week. Go back to last Thursday and my under 18's we’re practising corners, only for about 10 minutes but during this my lad, got a header slightly wrong and it came off the top of his head. A couple of hours later he was complaining his head hurt, he is susceptible to sports induced migraines so we put it down to that. They usually last a maximum of 24 hours. Come Sunday last week he still wasn’t feeling right and only played the first 5 minutes of our game then went to sleep on the side of the pitch in the shade. So Monday we took him to the Dr's and he was prescribed imigran to be taken nasally twice. He still didn’t improve so we took him back to the Dr's yesterday morning (bear in mind he had had this migraine 8 days at this point and had hardly left his bed). They referred him to A and E. During his stay in hospital he had to have a lumbar puncture and was treated for meningitis overnight. We have just got him home and he has in fact been diagnosed with a post concussion migraine (thankfully not meningitis), resulting from 1 header that went wrong. He is feeling loads better now but won’t play again this week. Now I have been one that says the FA restrictions on heading are a load of rubbish, I was 100% wrong. Listen to the rules guys and hopefully this won’t happen again to any other players.
