The other aspect of this is naming the many people who knew/ colluded/ offered access/ coerced. He's the main perpetrator, but he's not a one man band. And I include the people parading him around treatment spaces in this.
Russell Brand’s trial is devastating. Testimony describes him as a rabid animal, demanding sex every few hours from whoever happened to be around, and taking it regardless of consent Brand’s defense is that women knew he was a degenerate maniac, so they should have expected it by being in a room with him (several allege he attacked them in public and tried to drag them into bathroom stalls) This is separate from FIVE disturbing allegations in Channel 4 Dispatches. Brand has zero regard for women as human beings - I can’t even imagine how many victims there truly are Blows my mind that so many people peddle his lunacy portraying him as a truth-telling martyr being smeared by the establishment - and buy his newfound religious hucksterism Makes sense he’s leapt into the movement of sexual offenders and pedophiles, where he belongs (other than prison)

Pet abuse is and always has been domestic abuse. They are family so I’m so glad that this is now being recognised as such. Well done 🙌🐶🐾🐈 #RubysLaw 🐾
‼️🐾Northern Ireland is set to be the first jurisdiction in the UK and Ireland to introduce Ruby’s Law. 👨‍⚖️Ruby’s Law aims to recognise pet abuse as part of domestic abuse, and address that threat or harm to animals can be used as coercive control to intimidate a partner. 📣Tara Cunningham of Causeway Coast Dog Rescue campaigns for animal welfare reform in NI, and she spoke to our reporter Emily Brown about this step.

It can't be because Israel is ashamed of what they are doing in the West Bank, it's obvious they don't do shame. So they must know they have something to hide that would cause them trouble if MPs saw what they were doing and would have an audience for their findings Clive Lewis, MP for Norwich South, and Lara Bird, MP for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, and three other European elected representatives, were refused entry to West Bank via Jordan on Monday evening. The group said they were due to meet Palestinian students and civil society leaders and accompany Palestinian farmers facing escalating Israeli settler violence during the olive harvest lbc.co.uk/article/mp-clive-l…

Jesus, that's quite the spectacular combination of historical ignorance, sectarian grievance and just plain old hypocrisy. Firstly, comparing the Pope, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, with membership of the Orange Order is so utterly ridiculous it's difficult to know where to begin. One is a religious office; the other is membership in a Protestant fraternal organisation with a long, deeply contentious political history. Do try to understand the difference. Secondly, since you're so keen on history, perhaps educate yourself about the Orange Order's formation in 1795 and the intimidation and expulsion of Catholic families from County Armagh in that period. Or does your interest in historical atrocities extend only to Protestant victims? Nobody denies the appalling violence inflicted on Protestants. But Catholics suffered horrific persecution and sectarian violence too. You don't get to erase one community's suffering while exploiting another's to excuse sectarianism. And here's the really embarrassing part. You're dragging up centuries-old atrocities to defend an organisation whose members still insist on marching through communities where their presence is deeply contentious. What exactly are you arguing? That because Protestants suffered historically, Catholics today should accept whatever the Orange Order demands? That's not historical understanding. It's inherited grievance being used to justify present-day entitlement. And the irony of invoking historical persecution while defending an organisation founded on religious exclusivity appears to have sailed straight over your head. Perhaps spend a little less time repeating sectarian folklore and a little more time reading actual Irish history.

I don't know where to begin with this level of ignorance. This is Carla, having purchased a painting from an exhibition. Delighted to find a 'special place in my office' for a scene of riot police at Drumcree, forcing a march down the road. This is why people are fleeing unionism

Such good news. Belfast Council is applying to host the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann for a third year in a row, in 2028. It was so much fun. I think about my interview with Donal O’Connor about the potential of the unique soundscape of this part of the world!

Good morning everybody after a noisy night with gales and bang crash wallop we emerge into a warm windy wild morning. There is a bit of drizzle in the air but in the shelter of the meadow it is rather nice. Leo is livelier today, Meg and Bob are dancing as usual. x

Listen to her. Brainwashed into a superiority complex, the entitlement and utter lies are staggering. The cult of Zionism should have no place in striving for a better world. It should be outlawed like Nazism.

Three paragraphs when two words would have done. "Revolving door."
Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail. My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip. I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

When you imagined being an MP as a child, did you ever think you'd be running political cover for a genocidal, racist, apartheid state? Is this everything you ever wanted and more?

This gentleman @irelandresource continues to articulate what we all think, in a perfectly brilliant, reasoned way. A wonderful read if you have a minute. I doff my cap to you sir 😉
Replying to @JamieBrysonLLB
Jamie, you show an immaturity and an extraordinary ignorance of the word “supremacy.” you might want to invest in a dictionary. Chris Donnelly makes a perfectly reasonable and historically accurate point. The Orange Order is an exclusively Protestant institution with a long history of sectarian exclusion, political privilege and contentious marches. Yet Orange parades are accommodated across nationalist communities throughout NI, often without controversy. And your response? “Nationalist supremacy.” Jesus wept, Have you even a notion what supremacy means? Let me give you a wee leg up , my legal eagle chum. Supremacy: the condition of having superior power, authority or status over others. Now, let’s apply that definition to NI’s history, shall we? Who presided over a state in which Catholics experienced systematic discrimination in housing, employment and political representation? Who defended a political system built around permanent unionist control? Who enjoyed privileged access to political power while nationalist communities struggled for equal treatment? And which exclusively Protestant institution became so closely intertwined with that political establishment? So do you want to phone a friend? Unionist political dominance and the Orange Order’s historical relationship with it are textbook examples of institutional privilege and a supremacist political structure. You can Google that also And let’s not forget that the Orange Order’s membership has included individuals associated with loyalist paramilitary organisations, the police and the defence forces. Yet you would have us believe this historically powerful institution is somehow being oppressed because residents object to its members marching through their neighbourhoods. Then there’s your ridiculous comparison with the Catholic Church. Seriously? The Catholic Church exists primarily as a religious institution. The Orange Order is a religious, cultural and political fraternity with a long history of involvement in unionist politics. Religious exclusivity alone does not make an institution sectarian. Its conduct, rules and treatment of others matter. Nobody is denying Orangemen their religion, their British identity, their traditions or their right to assemble peacefully. What they are being denied is the supposed entitlement to exercise those rights wherever they please, regardless of the rights, wishes and historical experiences of the people living there. Not sure you get the distinction you continually and conveniently refuse to acknowledge. And here’s the part you really need to understand, Jamie. NI operated under a political system in which unionism held institutional power and nationalism was treated as subordinate. The civil rights movement challenged precisely that inequality. The GFA established principles of equality, parity of esteem and respect for both traditions. It did not replace unionist supremacy with nationalist supremacy. It rejected the principle that either community should dominate the other. Equality isn’t nationalist supremacy, Jamie. It’s the rejection of supremacy altogether. And perhaps that’s what troubles you and people of your ilk most. When you’ve grown accustomed to one tradition enjoying all that privilege, having to respect the equal rights of another can apparently feel like oppression. Chris Donnelly understands that distinction perfectly well. You, on the other hand, appear to be confusing the loss of historical privilege with the loss of human rights. And that, Jamie, says considerably more about your understanding of equality than it does about Chris Donnelly.

Putting an already grievously bereaved family through these ridiculous legal hoops, just to get to the truth, is callous in the extreme. But if that's what it takes, the Brown family and their community are ready for them. declassifieduk.org/the-murde…
