An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

“Disgusting… The worst form of bootlicking.” It’s safe to say that Alastair Campbell doesn’t agree with Steve Witkoff that Putin is a ‘humanitarian’. @IainDale @campbellclaret

Quite a thing to say this on the day that a Russian strike kills a baby in a stroller.

Since bears love honey, an Anglo-Saxon kenning for 'bear' is 'bee-wolf' (ravager of bees), i.e. 'beo-wulf'. So Winnie the Pooh = Beowulf!

Shocking to hear that @BBC plan to reduce investment into #Birmingham and move our beloved The Archers out of the city. I have written to the Director General demanding they reverse the decision.

So, after eighteen months of lying on the supermarket floor screaming at Denmark, Donald Trump has been handed the 1951 defence agreement, which already gave America bases and the run of Greenland for as long as NATO exists, and which it was using so enthusiastically that it closed sixteen of its seventeen installations there. The grown-ups have simply wrapped the toy he already owned in shiny new paper, told him it was the biggest present anyone has ever had, and he is now running round the garden showing it to everyone. He will certainly make the history books, although I fear not in the chapter he was hoping for.
This historic deal is a huge win for the United States and the American people. Thanks to President Trump’s vision and leadership, this historic agreement permanently guarantees U.S. security interests in the Arctic at zero cost to the U.S. taxpayer. Greenland will forever be part of the strategic defense area of North America and exclude any adversary from it and the surrounding area. This deal permanently and completely addresses our national security concerns in Greenland.

So let’s get this right Hegseth. You and your boss start a war against Iran without even informing never mind consulting your European allies, during which Iran seizes the Strait of Hormuz — which you’re now struggling to wrest back. And now you say it’s Europe’s fight rather than America’s. No. You broke it. You fix it.

So.... £2,485 on glasses for a PM was "sleaze rotting our politics to the core" but £72,000,000 in a single day for Nigel Farage is celebrated as hitting "the jackpot" and a "war chest..." Whatever is happening here is happening in plain sight. You decide!

Observe how Nigel Farage's Praetorian Guard in the media - who vilified Keir Starmer over the gift of a tie and glasses - seek to normalise £72m of crypto in a day. Suspect British journalists will, on the whole, do the opposite.
An astonishing £72 million pours into @reformparty_uk funds in 24 hours. The money could be a game changer. Write off @Nigel_Farage at your peril

I am honoured and humbled that Ben Delo has shown such confidence in Reform. Ben knows that we are the only party that can turn the country around and reverse Britain’s rapid decline. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/09…

Like Ukip and like Brexit, Reform is fundamentally a scheme hatched and backed by very rich men who are peeved that they don't run the country. Surely even their own voters have to grasp this eventually.

Carl Holsøe in this work from the late 1890s lingers over light from a central window. Appearing here and in many of his other paintings is a lone female figure, her back turned, her identity is left to the imagination of the viewer.
