It’s a little bit funny that a social scene that constantly ponders hypotheticals like “what if you had to have sex with a dog or everyone in the world would die. Would you do it?” Is now confronted by a real life situation that basically comes down to “what if having fewer and less public sex parties would result in a smaller chance of everyone dying?”

The midwit/bell curve meme has become predatory. Most of us are midwits by definition. Midwits are, again, by definition the most productive group of people that maintain society.
The fact that they get humiliated left and right is because we've made the environment increasingly hostile to "normality". Unless you're a decamillionaire or some debased influencer clown, the amount of effort required to extract the basic rewards out of life has become disproportionate.

The actual solution would be to tax remittances at 99% and bankrupt employers who use illegal labor with onerous fines. People would leave on their own. But that would require the GOP standing up to their corporate donors as well as parts of their base that would prefer to watch ICE hunt Mexicans and brutalize white libs on the streets because it makes them feel good.
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) says the GOP should retreat from deportations and create a pathway to citizenship for the millions of immigrants who have invaded America, radically changing our demographics, economy, politics, and way of life.

Caleb is a very liberal person who nonetheless thinks many people have the ability and responsibility to improve their own life through better choices, and also that violent criminals shouldn't walk free after 20 prior arrests. For this he is criticized by other liberals as dog-whistling right-wing politics.
What this is revealing is the extreme positions the left has chosen to make purity tests out of, and the helpless/depressive affect it believes to be virtuous. They keep backing themselves into a corner of "self improvement is fascist".
