* Open source OS's and apps are excluded
* Code repos are excluded (@github / @gitlab)
* Containers are excluded (@Docker / @Podman_io)
I testify Thursday and can use your help! I need your stories about incredible things kids have made thanks to access to open source software. Share here or DM me.

If you are reporting security issues to an open source project, PLEASE INDICATE WHETHER YOU USED AI TO FIND THEM.
I'm not saying this because teams want to be able to filter out "AI slop". I'm saying this because it's important for teams to be aware of the AI state of the art.

It's December 27, which means there's 3 weeks left to get your @BSDCan talk submissions in.
Ok, I know you're all planning on submitting at 23:59:59 on the 27th, but since you've probably got a bit of free time between now and the New Year, maybe start thinking about talk ideas?
Ok, based on 6-8 yes responses (depending on whether you count people who are interested in the talk but can't attend) and 42 "likes", I think I have a talk idea ready to submit.
Speaking of which: The CFP is open until January 17th. Please submit talks! bsdcan.org/2026/papers.html#…

Due to high winds and unsafe driving conditions, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has closed the following roads:
– Highway 93 is closed from Golden to Eldorado Springs.
– Peak to Peak Highway (Hwy 72) is closed from Highway 7 to Nelson St.
– North Foothills Highway (Hwy 36) is closed north of Boulder to Lyons.
– Flagstaff Road is closed; local access only.
We continue to encourage people to avoid driving today due to the hazardous conditions.

Whew. I have never seen a more brutal takedown of Trump’s cabinet than Pete Buttigieg here. No academic, high-brow rhetoric. Just simple, vivid language that everyone can understand & get behind. A masterclass from Pete. Watch this.
