@MSU_Football OC Sheridan teases a bigger role for Swiss Army Knife TE/H-Back @CarsonGulker27 who transferred from @FerrisFootball #IncredibleGulk
Michigan State OC Nick Sheridan brought up Carson Gulker improving each week. Could we finally see the Ferris State transfer make an impact?

Tight End is the best position in football! They have to block like an Offensive lineman and run routes like a Wide Receiver! Know as much as Quarterback! Swiss Army knife!
Happy National Tight Ends Day! @Towson_FB @te_university #ARETE
Being named to the @SBay_Football Mt Rushmore is a nice way to end my birthday week. Thank you @HSSportsScene Their MI HS FB Mt Rushmore is worth a follow on Facebook.

1/3 🏈 An unintended consequence of the #PCSA?
As @AndyStaples & @WinterSportsLaw argue, restrictions intended to prevent super conferences could push major brands toward independence—and ultimately accelerate a breakaway.
@univmiami may be just the beginning.
2/3 But here's the catch with a CFB Super League:
If @UMichFootball, @OhioStateFB, @AlabamaFTBL & @GeorgiaFootball play other Big Brands every week (with no Purdues), somebody has to lose.
Good teams that once finished 10-2 could finish 8-4 or 7-5—and MISS the playoffs.
3/3 More TV💰? Perhaps. But fewer wins, tougher playoff paths & unhappy fan bases?
The conference opponents Big Brands want to leave behind also help them win championships.
Economic independence comes with competitive consequences.

🚨 NIL MONEY: A PROMISE ISN’T A PAYMENT.
The College Sports Commission is investigating potential NIL/Rev Share cap evasion at P4 programs.
Players: Before signing, verify WHO (school, collective, MMR) pays, WHEN payment is due, WHAT you must deliver & whether NIL GO clearance is required.
Get it in writing. Protect your future.

The #PCSA passed the Senate 77–22. So why might it DIE in the House?
As a former lobbyist, I see 5 major obstacles: House–Senate rivalry, GOP vote math, conference expansion, policy divisions & the election.

Marcus Mariota says the biggest realization he gained from therapy was that football had become his identity and he had lost himself because of that
“I still struggle with separating football from my identity. After everything fell apart in Tennessee, I didn’t know what to do. The same thing happened in Atlanta. I thought I had learned from those previous challenges, but then it happened all over again.”
“I got to the point where I was like, ‘I don’t need to do this football thing. It’s tearing me apart.’ When I got to Philly, I started talking to a sports psychologist who I still talk to today.”
“That training camp was probably the worst camp I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even hit a shallow route. I was dirting flat routes. Howie came over and said, ‘I really want you to dig into your mental side a little bit.’”
“Over the course of that season, I started getting away from my identity as a football player and more into my identity as a husband, a father, a son and a brother. As athletes, your sport becomes how you identify yourself.”
“You hear people say, ‘You’re more than a football player,’ and you think, ‘Yeah, I know.’ But sometimes you don’t really know until something gets thrown in your face.”
“Now I take about an hour a week and talk. Some of it is football, but a lot of it is just what’s going on internally. In Tennessee, I would shoulder everything. ‘Put the blame on me. I don’t care. I’ll figure it out.’ You don’t realize how much that affects you until afterward.”

SEC presidents today tabled a vote on re-implementing the intraconference transfer policy that would require athletes moving within the league to sit a season, sources tell @YahooSports.
Presidents approved a uniform NIL/rev-share contract that includes customizable components.
SEC presidents will meet next week to consider a proposal that would reestablish a year-in-residency mandate for athletes moving within the conference, sources tell @YahooSports.
The move would require athletes to miss a season if transferring from one SEC school to another.

✍️ How the heck did Oregon State become the most fun team in the country?
A top-10 offense, a QB from FCS, a freshman WR nobody offered and a head coach leading fans in swag surfing. The Beavs are must-see TV.

Listen to @JayBilas . College athletes create enormous economic value for schools, conferences, the NCAA, broadcasters, media companies, and more. It’s fundamentally unfair to restrict athletes’ rights while leaving other powerful actors in the college sports ecosystem largely unconstrained.

Interesting PCSA news.
Clemson, North Carolina, Miami & Florida St asked the House to amend the bill to remove the conference realignment waiting period & to increase the allowable size of P4 conferences to 22.
Contradicts NCAA & others’ position to ask House to pass as is.

The House will be proposing amendments to the PCSA, which could complicate chances of passing.
Amendments will likely include:
-prohibiting college athletes from being employees
-limiting scholarships given to international athletes
-removing conference realignment limits
News: Sen. Ted Cruz has been adamant the House will pass his Protect College Sports Act quickly. But House Majority Leader Steve Scalise said that won’t be the case and the bill likely won’t even pass as-is.
Scalise told The Sun that there are “differences between the House and the Senate” on the legislation that will be “addressed in some amendments that will keep the focus of the bill on letting the schools govern themselves.”
“There's some good elements in the bill, but you saw there were some other problems that a number of our chairmen of the committees of jurisdiction in the House have with that bill, that would need to be fixed,” Scalise said.

How will the upcoming mid-term elections impact House passage of the #ProtectCollegeSportsAct? What legislators have concerns & why? We did a deep dive on this & gave an update on our D2/D3 to P4 transfer portal clients on @Hugeshow yesterday. @bullrush_sports #PCSA #transferportal podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas… podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
The anti-conference expansion provision in the PCSA complicates its path to 217 (3 vacancies) votes in the US House as Florida & Carolina members oppose on behalf of their schools (Miami, FSU, North Carolina) who want option to move w/out being an independent for 3 years. Talking this & more on the @Hugeshow at 3pm today. #pcsa #sportslaw
A draft of a 2-page letter intended to be sent to House leadership encourages elimination of the expansion provision in the Protect College Sports Act, per a copy obtained by @YahooSports.
More than a dozen House lawmakers have committed to signing, most in Florida/Carolinas.
