Dear colleagues at BCVS council-@AHAScience: The next application deadline of FAHA (Fellow of AHA) is January 22, 2027. There is still plenty of time to ask for reference letters and prepare the package for FAHA. This honorific designation is to recognize scientific and professional achievements of BCVS members to support AHA mission. The benefits of becoming FAHA include: recognition of accomplishments, FAHA designation in credentials, acknowledgment of service to AHA, reduced fees for conferences and FAHA lounge at Scientific Sessions. Please check out (professional.heart.org/en/pr…) for eligibility, application package and other FAQs for FAHA!

The traditional divide between cardiovascular and neurological disease may no longer reflect biological reality.
Common cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and myocardial infarction, are linked to cognitive impairment and mental health challenges, while stroke and severe psychological stress can contribute to cardiac dysfunction through bidirectional brain-heart pathways.
This calls for integrated research, clinical trials, and care pathways that routinely consider cardiovascular, neurological, cognitive, and mental health outcomes together, reflecting the multidirectional nature of brain-heart disease.
