I also met @abaarsonetwork alumni Abdisalan who is heading to @StirUni later this year. We spoke about family, politics, life in the UK, his passion for education, climate concerns, and Scottish idioms! From Somaliland to Scotland - canβt wait to follow his journey. Good luck!
Tea with Fadumo tonight - one of Somalilandβs pioneering nurses and midwives. Women like her are at the heart of development: saving lives, bringing new ones safely into the world, and educating the next generation with a truly transformative impact. Feeling inspired π«Ά
A special dedication also to my colleagues who inspire me every day - including our @HeadBritOffice who leads our charge #WomenEmpowerment
Today I was honoured to break fast with remarkable women in #Somaliland including @EdnaAdan whose lifelong dedication has provided 1000s of women with life-saving care + dignity & Hibo Diri, a rising champion for educational justice. Thank you for your courage, always. #IWD2026
Day 2 of our FCDO health visit to Somaliland. Thank you to @SomalilandMoHD @unicefsomalia @TedlaMezemir and partners for your incredible work. #WorldHealthDay #GoFarGoTogether
That's a wrap! Thank you #Eritrea for being my home over the last 12 months. I will carry your beauty, rich history and kindness with me. Thank you to my friends, hafteys and haweys, I met along the way - and of course @david_mcilroy for leading our British Embassy team πͺπ·π
On #WorldWildlifeDay2025 and as my time in #Asmara comes to an end, sharing some of my favourite shots of beautiful #Eritrea
Such a privilege to be on the streets of Asmara tonight as people celebrate the eve of Independence Day πͺπ·π
Think I found my new favourite spot in #Asmara...and no, it's not just someone's living room. This is totally my vibe. π
Honoured to attend my first coffee ceremony today at the Embassy πͺπ· Over 10 years ago (!) I started my first job at Costa Coffee - today I'm having REAL coffee #sorrynotsorry
Day 1 in Asmara, and what an experience so far! #NoFilter - the flowers are the most vibrant I've ever seen.
This week I said goodbye to the Office for Conflict, Stabilisation and Mediation before I head out to #Eritrea as Deputy Head of Mission. Will miss my conflict family, but looking forward to building a new community in Asmara! πͺπ·
