I condemn the passage of the bill on transmission of presidential election results. Every Kenyan deserves an electoral process that is open, accountable and verifiable. Transparency of election result transmission is mandatory as per Article 86 of the Constitution. No Bill or law can purport to override the Katiba @UGMParty @Reforms_Ke

Fellow Kenyans, the Constitution is clear. The electoral system must be “accurate, verifiable, secure, accountable and transparent” No law is superior than our Katiba. I will work with the People’s Coalition for Electoral Reforms @Reforms_Ke to thwart any efforts to return us to the dark era of ECK or the post election violence of 2007/08.

We will be relentless in protecting the integrity of our electoral process, including live streaming of results. In Kirinyaga County today, we condoled with the family of the late Mzee Ephantus Njuki Njagi, the father of the long-standing and committed @UGMParty member Pharis Mugo. I was accompanied by Kirinyaga Women Rep aspirant Emma Waithera, Co-Secretary General Katto Wambua, County Coordinator Carorose Wachira, and Murang’a MCA aspirant Chris wa Gúka, among other Greens. As we stand with Pharis and his family in this moment of loss, we remain united in our commitment to building a Kenya that works for everyone. I wish to send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mama Monica Ochieng Oraro (Nyar Imbo) on her demise. Mama Monica was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved by many. A matriarch who touched many lives, she made great contributions to her community. Her love, care and kindness will be forever cherished. We send our deepest condolences to the family of the late Mzee Martin Oraro Ondu and the larger K'Ogony clan. We also extend our condolences to the family of Mzee Erastus Omoga as well as Mr. Gidion Rabut of Texas, USA for losing a beloved aunt. May the Lord comfort you as you grief the loss of Mama Monica.
