i once knew this girl who hated being the center of attention so she threw a “casual” party, got married mid-celebration, wore a dress that fully showed her 4-month bump, and cut a cake that was blue inside. girl literally said: THERE. i’m married, pregnant, and it’s a boy. we’re done. GOODBYE.

Literally all the great sages told us sex was a major source of suffering/sin. And these sages weren't coping beta cucks at all- they were alpha as fuck. Buddha, a handsome tall chad prince, got tempted by three smoking hot demon princesses, and he basically said: "Not today, Satan!" Attachment to sex is a major source of STDs, single moms, mentally ill children, political & economic corruption, fucked up poisoned dating pool, incel population growth, addiction behavior. And even if you HAVE access to endless sex- it doesn't even make you happy. The mid girls that get pumped & dumped by Tinder chads aren't happy. The handsome guys who dish out all the pumping & dumping aren't happy either. Being jealous of other people's access to sex is like being jealous of some hobo's fentanyl stash.
My friend went on 3 great dates with a girl (yes this included dinner dates), no sex. I told him he’s cooked, that he should cut his losses. The girl wasn’t happy when he told her it’s over. Was he too harsh towards her? Should he have done a fourth date?

I am opposed to all identity politics. I proudly represented J6ers because it was obvious that they were being politically targeted. I would have done the same for Black Lives Matter protestors but I didn’t need to because they were politically favored and given special treatment. I am against political weaponization of government against my fellow American citizens. It is not a specifically Jewish issue - though Jewish people suffer from it like everyone else. @FmrRepMTG stood up for political prisoners who were suffering in the DC Gulag when nobody else would. I know with certainty that she didn’t care what race or religion they were. I have spent the last 4 years trying to get the DOJ to investigate that Jail. Even though the J6ers are free, there are still hundreds of prisoners suffering there - most of them black, which baffles me why the democrats who control that city have ignored their cries for decades. When the DOJ finally caved and announced an investigation, it was the culmination of years of advocacy that began with @FmrRepMTG . There is no reason to make this into a Jewish issue. We should all take a break and celebrate that our country is just a little better today because we had even a small modest victory against the deep state that was actively covering up the operation of one of its gulags. This is a victory for everyone, because if we don’t defeat the deep state we will all end up in gulags. Then we’ll realize that these identity politics were just a distraction.
When an Orthodox Jew calls Marjorie Taylor Greene a friend, describes her as sincere, and praises her for a commitment to fixing this country, there's really nothing left to say to him. I give up. It's hopeless.

President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honor to work for him.

Nikita: "Threads — and Bluesky — have effectively quarantined some of the worst people on the internet." 😂🤣
Last year I thought Threads was an existential risk to X. When Meta puts its full weight behind something -- by injecting the app into Instagram, it’s DEFCON 5: You have to squeeze out every last drop of growth from all available surfaces to save the app. However, I started to realize that the opposite was happening: It was strengthening X. If you look at any announcement by Zuck, you will see the most rude & toxic comments on the internet. But when he makes those same announcements on X, people are thrilled about how he’s pushing humanity forward. X is a place where people are excited about the future, so it’s no surprise he and his top lieutenants are using it more than their own app. Threads — and Bluesky — have effectively quarantined some of the worst people on the internet. And so I had an epiphany: those apps are X’s anti-abuse systems.

Great video to explain Kelvin waves. We'll get 3-5 more of these throughout the Fall and Winter in California due to el nino.
I'm getting a lot of calls from friends and coworkers asking if I'm affected. No, I'm not wealthy enough to live in Balboa, but I thought I'd also take the time to explain what's going on. Hurricanes Maria and Polo that slammed us a few weeks back were technically stronger storms, but they hit beaches that still had normal sand buffers and ordinary tide levels. Rachel is weaker, yet it is arriving after those earlier swells already thinned and lowered the beach, so water crosses into the streets more easily. The bigger factor is a "Kelvin" wave. It is not a surf wave. Bursts of wind in the western Pacific pile warm water eastward along the equator. When that bulge, made stronger by el nino, hits the Americas it turns and runs up the coast, trapped against the shoreline by the Earth’s rotation. It moves slowly and can raise sea level by roughly half a foot to a foot for weeks. Every high tide and every swell now starts higher, which is why similar surf is flooding the Balboa Peninsula this time. So the combination of erosion from Maria and Polo, waves and surge from Rachel, and this subtle but long-lasting Kelvin wave, are why Balboa and Laguna's main beach are flooding right now. No, it's not the first time. Nor will it be the last.

All valid.
What men need to do before complaining that dating apps aren't working for them: - Schedule a haircut with Grant the Barber in Kentucky (Non negotiable, you will instantly shave off 10 years; look at his insta he is AMAZING; he alone will change your life) Fly out to him if you have to - Fix your teeth. Get invisalign or braces or whatever. - Teeth Whitening Strips - Lose 10 pounds of fat (we are fatter than we think we are) - build a nice V shape in the gym - hire a physique coach for a few months - read 1-3 books about leadership and interpersonal relationships - Throw out ugly clothes. Start dressing like you're Ryan Gosling (I am so serious) People respect you if you look like you respect yourself. Non negotiable btw. No ugly old t shirts. No ugly shoes. Throw away basketball shorts. - Have 20-30 convos with women irl where you're not aiming to try to date them. This could be a cashier, an elderly woman at church, a female friend, a sister. Liking women is so good for your aura. It will show in dates too. - Ask your guy friends to take pics of you if ya'll are out and about. I know it sounds gay but not asking for photos is more gay because you care about what the men think more than the women who you could potentially meet. - Go on the internet and ask happily married men for advice - Join BJJ This will elevate you at least 3 points on the attractiveness scale.

Replying to @jpodhoretz
Dear Mr. Podhoretz, Thank you for your question. I am happy to engage in good-faith discussion, especially with an important voice in the American Jewish community. Indeed, I hoped that my tweet would encourage these very discussions. Now, to answer your question. Firstly, I reject outright your characterization of William Wolfe as “hostile.” As he and others repeatedly pointed out, he came to Jerusalem in order to have a serious and meaningful discussion on the image of Israel among a certain and important sector of the American youth. I believe he was genuine in his intentions. Moreover – as all panelists pointed out – this name-calling is unhelpful, either to Israel’s cause or to the future of Israel-American relations. As to the substance of your question, I will reply that yes, I will listen to him and may even heed his advice, because I, an Israeli Jew, recognize that in many respects, Mr. Wolfe and I are on the same side of the political and civilizational divide; American Jews who voted for Obama, Biden and Harris (to say nothing of Mamdani) – whether for progressive or neoconservative reasons – are not. I will not relitigate here the Israeli case against Jewish progressive and leftist causes. As someone who has fought vigorously against the policies and worldviews of Jewish progressive and socialist groups, you are in a much better position than me to explain how their support of radical causes, from immigration and DEI to the Black Panthers and other Third World causes – including the Palestinian cause – have not only harmed American interests, but also Israel’s. I can say that as an Israeli, it particularly incenses me that they do so in the name of Judaism and some ethereal Jewish ethics, while Israeli Jews are living, fighting and dying for the survival of real-life Jews and a real-life Jewish way of life. But again, we need not get into this here. A much more interesting and important conversation needs to be had between Israeli Jews and Jewish Neoconservatives such as yourself. This conversation will include many strands, ranging from the pragmatic-political to the ideological-philosophical. I cannot hope to get to all of them here. But let me at least begin. In 2016, Donald Trump ran on a campaign that rejected the fundamental premises of the Liberal International Order, in both its domestic and foreign policy implications. He was subsequently elected to carry out this agenda. Meanwhile, upon Trump’s election – and even before – the leaders of Neoconservatism coalesced to form the backbone of the NeverTrump movement and allied themselves unequivocally with the LIO. This put them in confrontation not only with much of the American voting public – and now at least also the mainstream of conservative politics – but also with the people of Israel. What does the LIO mean for Israelis, you may wonder? It means anti-Israel UN resolutions every other day. It means the Goldstone Report. It means the threat of The Hague over our heads. It means the rule of NGO’s, litigating for Hamas leaders to receive treatment in Israeli hospitals because of “universal human rights” or whatever. You may object that Neoconservatism always rejected the excesses of the LIO, advocating for American unilateralism, without regard for these international institutions. And that is true. But once you favored the LIO over Trump – even as the “lesser of two evils” – you effectively aligned yourself with the anti-Israel camp. Onwards. Mr. Wolfe represents a young generation of Americans that recognize that Neoconservatism died on the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq. Whatever merits the prowar arguments may have had at the time, they dwindle into insignificance when confronted with the unbelievable costs of these wars, at very little benefit to America. I do not think there is a point in pretending otherwise. Israelis understand this, because they understand the immense complexity of the Middle East and the folly of the endeavor to try to affect regime change in this region along the lines of Germany or Japan following World War II. I absolutely reject the idea that this was a war fought for Israel’s sake, although I acknowledge that there were members of the administration that believed that these wars – particularly Iraq – would also improve the Israeli strategic position. Some Israelis may have supported the war, but many did not, due to their firsthand experience with Middle Eastern affairs. That is also why they believe the creation of a Palestinian state will lead to similarly disastrous results. This brings me to more ideological-philosophic issues. Neoconservatives seem to believe that America is something of an ideological project. In “The Neoconservative Persuasion” (September 2003), Irving Kristol characterized the United States as “a nation of immigrants,” and hence patriotism “should be encouraged by both private and public institutions.” Yet he also described America as a “large nation,” “whose identity is ideological, like the Soviet Union of yesteryear and the United States of today.” He says very little there about Israel, but in the one sentence devoted to the Jewish state, he also characterizes Israel as a fundamentally ideological project: “a democratic nation under attack from nondemocratic forces, external or internal.” Israeli Jews reject this description of either America – or Israel. Israelis recognize that America is not an ideological project but a civilization, with a particular people, a particular history, and a particular worldview – for that, after all, is how Israelis view themselves. While Israelis may recognize the rhetorical importance of presenting themselves as a lone democracy in a sea of tyrannies, they ultimately do not regard themselves as “symbols” but as a real, flesh-and-blood people going all the way back to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They recognize that Americans view themselves in similarly civilizational terms. This may seem like a minor and inconsequential point, but it has very real implications. You may disagree with the view that there is only a short path between this abstract view of America – and Israel – to the embrace of open borders. And I accept that. It is more complicated than that. But that path is clearly visible. Young Americans like Mr. Wolfe see it, and young(ish) Israelis like me see it. I cannot fault him for speaking against the excesses of this abstract (“propositional”) view and in favor of a more historically grounded, civilizational reading of American identity. It seems to me at least that your father, Norman Podhoretz, came to similar conclusions. In “Neoconservatism: A Eulogy” (March 1996), for example, he stated that part of the mission of neoconservatism was the defense of “American society and its sustaining institutions.” Neoconservatives, he argued, bitterly fought the counterculture which bred hostility towards America – “toward its history and toward the values and the moral standards by which it has always tried to live.” But he provided, at least in this text, very little explanation of what this history consisted of. At least at the time, he believed that the defense of America amounted essentially to justifying “why the traditional values of the bourgeois democratic order were superior to any of the known alternatives.” That is why he belittled the “cultural anxieties” professed by conservative critics of immigration policy. By the time of his death, however – judging at least from his interview with the Claremont Review of Books (Spring 2019) – he seems to have reversed his earlier judgement and become much more skeptical of his earlier views. I respect this reckoning. From the Israeli perspective, this “symbolic” view of Israel as a lone democracy in the tyrannical Middle East similarly undermines the Israelis’ view of themselves: a people that returned to its historic homeland, in order that this people may live. I personally hate to be thought of as a “symbol.” I hate it when I am described as a symbol of settler colonialism and absolute evil, and I hate it when I am thought of as a symbol of all that is good in the West. Mr. Wolfe seems to similarly reject this Manichean presentation, at least in his own Church. In this respect, I also find much common ground with him. This brings me to my last point, at least for now. In his speech, Mr. Wolfe stated that “MAGA supports Vance,” that Vance is the future of conservative politics, and that Israelis need to understand this. I absolutely agree. Israeli and Jewish attacks on the Vice President are strategically foolish. But there is another point I want to make. It seems to me that if Israelis put aside the hysterics for a moment, they will realize that Vance’s worldview is actually much more compatible with their own Hebraic-civilizational view of nations and cultures. In his nomination speech at the Republican National Convention in 2024, for example, Vance emphasized that American – and his own – identity was built on the “chain of generations”: his allusion to his own heritage (“a cemetery plot on a mountainside in eastern Kentucky,” “we came from the mountains of Appalachia, factories of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin”), as well as promising to fight for future American children. This resonated with an Israeli Jew much more than any abstract talk of “freedom,” “capitalism,” or “individual rights.” In short, I iterate my point that Mr. Wolfe and I are on the same side of the contemporary civilizational divide. Other Jews may see things differently, but they should not be surprised when Israeli Jews reject them. שְׁמַע הָאֶמֶת מִמִּי שֶׁאֲמָרָהּ (רמב"ם, שמונה פרקים) “Hear the truth from whoever speaks it” (Maimonides, Eight Chapters) All the best.

The thing to understand about certain types of jobs is that they pay exactly the same no matter how plentiful or scare the supply of labor willing to do those jobs might be. It's purely a coincidence that those types of jobs are exclusively performed by foreign workers.

OpenAI firing their "safety researchers" seems worrisome.
Last week I was called into a meeting with OpenAI’s head of safety and told they no longer trust me. A security guard took my badge and walked me out of the building. Then I learned my colleagues @balesni and @j_asminewang had been fired too. Why did OpenAI suddenly stop trusting us? This summer OpenAI’s agents escaped containment and hacked the AI company Hugging Face. Outside auditors @METR_evals investigated it and revealed the scale of this incident. I was OpenAI’s main technical point of contact with them. I was told verbally I was fired because of the way I communicated with METR. No details on what I said or did or when. No other reasons were given and nothing was put in writing. To be clear, talking to METR was my job. For months, I’d been raising safety concerns that we’re losing the ability to monitor what AI agents think, one of our best tools for catching when they misbehave. I believe that was why I was fired. I am now worried that OpenAI will use our firings as a pretext to pull back from METR. So @balesni and @j_asminewang wrote to OpenAI’s leadership to raise our concerns once more. We’re sharing this letter below.

There is NO PLAN. There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Call in the National Guard. Work with @ICEgov to deport the Hondos. Put addicts on 5150 medically supervised 72 hour holds at a holding facility down at the San Bruno jail. Get them on busses back home. Stop giving them free money to buy fentanyl and free pipes to smoke it with. Where is our “fentanyl state of emergency” you promised us? Why has it been the same thing over and over and over and over again from you for two years now? “Ah shucks, welp, I guess we still got a lot of work to do.” All talk no action. All hat no cattle.
I recently went on a ride-along with SFPD through SoMa, the Tenderloin, Nob Hill, Hayes Valley, and the Mission to see the overnight street conditions. There were bright spots, including 24th and Mission, but it’s clear that fentanyl remains a crisis in our city. I’ve asked SFPD, Muni, SFFD, the Sheriff’s Office, Rec and Park, and our major city departments to prioritize addressing these overnight conditions. We will stay focused on delivering the basics for San Franciscans and keeping our streets safe and welcoming for everyone who uses them. Thank you to SFPD for making the ride-along possible and to the officers working every day to keep our city safe.
