By Wednesday morning, senior leaders were discussing whether the results meant OpenAI would have to lower expectations for its data center capacity next year, per the WSJ, citing a person familiar with the conversation. Voters in at least 29 places across the US approved bans or restrictions on data centers on Tuesday, and Goldman Sachs has warned that Democratic wins at the state and local level could put 45% of planned US data center capacity at risk.
