Replying to @UGAEcology
@UGAEcology’s @drake_lab is building a Japanese encephalitis virus infectious disease model to explain how this virus is expected to spread after it’s introduced into the U.S.

We're hiring! Two-year salaried postdoc position with research interests complementary to those of the school, or science communication, the intersection of ecological and social systems, or conservation policy.

How might decision-makers intervene in future epidemics, especially at the early stages of outbreak when so little is known?

Is there a repository of projection matrices for ecology? I vaguely remember a paper from a few years ago that analyzed a bunch of different Leslie/Lefcovich matrices and probably had them all in the supplement, but can’t put my finger on it. There must be several!
Well deserved! Congratulations Rico, Scott, and Nicole!

Have any parasitologists or disease ecologists compiled a database of the many published macroparasite burden distributions? It seems like a great way to explore new ideas in the #macroecology of host-parasite interactions. Anybody interested in helping out?
