This week on “Catch the Pace,” Dr. Pace highlights how Henry County Schools is connecting students with real-world career experiences through Work-Based Learning. Through partnerships with local employers, Southern Crescent Technical College, community agencies, and other organizations, students have opportunities to explore careers, develop valuable skills, and gain hands-on experience while still in high school.
Dr. Pace is joined by Dutchtown High School student Jasper Williams at Piedmont Henry Hospital, where she is gaining valuable experience in the healthcare field as she works toward her goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist.
With Work-Based Learning instructors at every HCS high school helping students develop employability skills, find opportunities, and prepare for their futures, HCS is proud to help students discover their positive purpose and build bright futures right here in Henry County. We had the pleasure of hosting @Hyundai @GeorgiaCTAE @TSA and @HenryCountyBOE CTAE leaders to share exciting opportunities for our students through CTAE pathways! Thankful for opportunities to collaborate and bring experiences to @DHS_HCS
What a pleasure to lead this partnership this year! Just as excited to collaborate and give 3 students a chance to see the world this summer. Thanks to @Delta @FrenchConsulate and all the other people who made this happen for @DHS_HCS
Dutchtown High School students participated in a two-part program on April 22 supporting our ongoing commitment with the French Consulate, Delta, and the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace through the Freedom Prize initiative. As part of the Creative Freedom Challenge, students submitted essays and videos for an opportunity to earn a seven-day trip to France—where they will attend the Freedom Prize ceremony and visit key historic sites in Normandy alongside veterans, sponsored by Delta.
The event was moderated by Sarah Mayer-Charlet of the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace, featured guest speaker Patrick Chauvel, a renowned photojournalist, and included opening remarks from Bertrand Deniaud, Vice-President of Region Normandie. Congratulations to student winners Marcus McCray, Lola Stanley, and Eseosa Nehikhuere!
