There is so much more valuable information in a 6-lead ECG than a 1-lead. The superiority of 6 leads in the diagnosis of AFib and the ability to diagnose Atrial Flutter (normally invisible in Lead I) are just two of them. #AliveCor #Kardia6L pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3585…

“I’m good at this, but my colleagues could benefit from this AI.”
A sentiment we often hear at conferences. Yet ECG quizzes and studies consistently reveal a gap between perceived and actual ability to recognize STEMI/OMI.
Recognizing our own limitations takes humility.

Average room accuracy: 60%. Spotting occlusion MI on an ECG is harder than it looks. 🫀

Eating 800-1200 kcals daily and not losing weight is physiologically implausible.
That said, I don't think people are necessarily lying about their intake. Humans simply didn't evolve to be accurate calorimeters.

The OGs will know exactly what that means. Revisiting the saga feels like being gaslit all over again.

We have known about #WPW and accessory pathways as a common cause of SVT for >100 years and have effective procedures to address them, but we still have NO IDEA why some patients are born with these extra slivers of muscle that electrically connect atria to ventricles. Medicinal use of lithium in pregnant women leads to heightened risk of a particular form of congenital heart disease associated with these pathways. Might variable levels of lithium in drinking water affect the chance a growing fetus will be born with such a pathway? @jclinicalinvest @UCSF @UCSFHospitals @stopafib @DrDave01 @KnowYourPulse
